Coins of Tamriel SSE hardcore edition is now available for all versions!

Reduced the amount of coin that you can find when looting.
increase the chances that you won't find any coin when looting.
Reduced the amount of Septims that you receive from completing quests.
Septims received from quest rewards are now a set amount no matter the player level. Amounts are the following.
Small quest rewards = 2 silver Septims.
Medium rewards = 4 silver or 1 gold Septims.
Large rewards = 8 silver or 2 gold Septims.
Massive rewards = 16 silver or 4 gold Septims.

So I've been thinking. Would it be possible to use silver and gold coins during the barter and dialogue menus?

All the script would need to do is convert the gold and silver coins into copper coins and then add them back to reduce your inventory weight while still maintaining realism. That way it would be possible to carry 30,000 septims worth of coins in gold coins, which would only weigh 3 pounds!

I love the idea of different denominations! But I do have a question. I'm using the non-script version, and it seems to be working fine. I just got my first reward from a noble: 2 Gold Septims, which are worth 200 Copper [Normal] Septims.

As the non-scripted version is described, I have to trade these with a vendor to get money I can use. This kind of breaks the immersion, which you did say you can't change, but that's nothing compared to the fact that I haven't found a vender willing to give me the full value for my Gold Septims. For the aforementioned quest reward, the best I could get is 33 coppers per gold. That makes a quest reward that was 200 coppers be worth only 66 coppers.

I will try the scripted version tonight, and see if that's different. But if anyone else has experienced this, is there a fix?

I’ve used this mod in oldrim as well as SSE for years and I can safely say the script version has been a wonder in my load order. Although most users get worried when they see the word script, I can guarantee from continuous experience that the script version causes no issues in my 250+ mod load order. As for safe bloat? I’m not sure but I know this mod has never specifically caused any CTDs or anything like that, so you should be fine :)

I did install the scripted version, and the Silver and Gold Septims do get auto converted to their Copper Values, with no noticeable effect on gameplay. I haven't yet been able to catch if the auto conversions are accurate. I'll keep my eye on it and report back. But yes, the scripted version seems to run fine. I'm currently running over 125 mods, and no noticeable lag from this mod.

You can use the script free version of COT with this mod Exchange Currency SE

You can exchange every currency type to get the full values. You also have the option to exchange them into notes once you've acquired too many coins to carry if you added realistic coin weight. It's much more immersive and it might be what you're looking for.

Is there a way to make this mod work properly with Morrowloot Ultimate?

any way I could convert the coins to a weightless form or something? because of the weight I can't carry all of my money which is just annoying.

Reinstall and click the option for default weight, also look and see if any other mod changes the weight

I think that's an option when you install it. Try reinstalling in Vortex and selecting default like the previous guy said.

OR you could try what I'm going to: Reduce the weight through an immersive mod! https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/491?tab=description

    DeathItemDragon01

Added to level lists with Nordic Imperial luck and Nordic golden touch.

When using Rebalanced Level Lists there is a new level list called LootDragonGold50. Decided not to patch it.

"Nordic Coins (aka Alessia) can be found on Dragons, in Nordic ruins and on their inhabitants Draugr. "

Why are dragons carrying coins (like wolves and mudcrabs etc)... are they heading off to the shops?

I know this is old, but in case you haven't already figured it out, it's the same reason they can be found carrying armor pieces and weapons. Dragons eat people, and people carry coins. Math adds up.

Okay, I've read this description numerous times and tried every version of the regular and hardcore and cannot find this "Script free" version. Maybe I'm missing something somewhere, but this mod really needs a better explanation of how to get to a version where coins must be exchanged.

The very first option in the installer is to choose which main version you want to use. The script-free versions say "script free" after their name.

Here's a picture of the installer options.

If you're attempting to install it manually, which I emphatically do not recommend, then you need to choose and install ONE .esp file from one of the folders that say "script free" in their name. If you have more than one .esp file installed, then you may be unintentionally overwriting the script-free version with a scripted version.

Alright, I'll try it again and see if I can get it to work. I did look at the versions and noticed the nord and dwemer coin variants are only available on their own. Can you get away with using both versions to get both settings? Like regular of the septims and hardcore for the other coins?

You should NOT mix the regular and hardcore editions. One will overwrite the changes made by the other.

There are four main versions of the mod. Nordic and Dwemer coins are included in Versions 2, 3, and 4. The mod description explains everything, but I'll attempt to show it a bit more clearly. All four versions have a script-free option that you can pick in the installer.

Version 1 adds in the copper, silver and gold versions of Septims.
Version 2 adds in the copper, silver and gold versions of Septims, Nordic, and Dwemer coins.
Version 3 adds in the copper, silver and gold versions of Nordic and Dwemer coins.
Version 4 adds in the gold version of Nordic and Dwemer coins.

It sounds like VERSION 2 is the version that you want, because it includes ALL of the coin types. Just pick "Coins of Tamriel V2 - SSE Edition (script free version)" in the installer. Then you can go sell your looted coins to any merchant to have their value added to your currency total.

I'm really not sure what it is that you are missing. Every version is there and works as intended when installed correctly.

Yeah, I'm not sure either. May have to try removing and downloading again. May be a bad download since that is all I haven't tried. Thanks for the help btw.

I love this mod. It adds a nice bit of realism, and is the perfect companion to Exchange Currency SE. Thank you!

Is this mod still being supported? Great mod, but sadly, I can't use because there's too many issues.

What's different about 'Hardcore' mode? Also, I'm not really sure Alessia is really such a lore-friendly for Nordic coins since Nordic culture actually predates Alessia.
