Coins of Tamriel SSE hardcore edition is now available for all versions!

Reduced the amount of coin that you can find when looting.
increase the chances that you won't find any coin when looting.
Reduced the amount of Septims that you receive from completing quests.
Septims received from quest rewards are now a set amount no matter the player level. Amounts are the following.
Small quest rewards = 2 silver Septims.
Medium rewards = 4 silver or 1 gold Septims.
Large rewards = 8 silver or 2 gold Septims.
Massive rewards = 16 silver or 4 gold Septims.

Hey there, I really like your mod and the way it enhance immersion. It is an integral part of my immersion list whenever I want to start a new game.

However, there is quite an oversight that was never adressed by any mod so far : Why is Tiber Septim still featured on imperial coins?
I opened a discussion on the forums and would really be happy to have your opinion on it :

I really like the idea behind this mod, my only wish was that it had coins from all of the nine provinces! Maybe one day I'll make a mod to compliment that. If I ever did though I'd use the Late Roman currency values. and make the coins smaller. Its hard to believe that with 5$ with of copper pennies back in 1890 you could get a gold coin which would be valued at 300$ in todays currency. Sadly thanks to debasement of our currencies we now have zinc pennies (absolutely worthless and they cost more to make than they're actually worth) and copper dimes and quarters. And then there's paper money which has technically less material value than a zinc penny regardless of the numbers printed on them.

Absolutely adore this mod. Added a quick fix for $ to the "Coins of Tamriel - Unofficial Skyrim Special Edition Patch Bugfix" page, if anybody's interested, I hope it's OK.

So I just started a new game and for some reason I am not seeing any septims in-game and they are all showing as gold. However, when I look in my items menu my currency is listed as septims. Now I have added quite a few new mods since my last playthrough but I am not seeing any that I would think would be causing this issue and I was hoping that someone would have an idea of what could be causing this so I don't have to spend an hour disabling individual mods. I have LOOT sorting my load order, however, based on the advice I have seen online, I will probably move Coins of Tamriel to the bottom myself to "win" out over any other mods. If anyone else has had this issue and knows of any mod(s) that would be the cause of this I would be eternally grateful.

That definitely sounds like a load order issue. You are right not to trust LOOT on this one, Coins need to be near the bottom of the load order.

The `translate_ENGLISH.txt` included in this (at least, in V2) seems to be based on the version from `Skyrim - Interface.bsa`, which is missing the strings for the ingame mod manager and the entire creation club. If you don't use either and the dollar signs still bother you, add these lines to the end of the file from this mod.
    $CREATION CLUBCREATION CLUB
    $MOD MANAGERMODS

If you do need the creation club strings, you'll have use BAE to extract `translate_ENGLISH.txt` from `Skyrim - Patch.bsa` and then replace "Gold" for "Septims" yourself. Make sure you don't accidentally replace the instances of "$Gold" with the dollar sign, since that's the part that makes the translation work. If you have access to a text editor that allows regular expressions, you can use the following pattern to replace "Gold" without also replacing the keys: (?<!\$)Gold(?=[^\t\n]*\t)

Ah, so this mod is probably in need of some updates. And for some reason I couldn't see the coins at all, the v3 option didn't seem to install any esp.

I just used the extractor to grab the original file and did the translating myself, thus I didn't have to go through all of it myself.

Should I be getting both copper Kagrenac and copper Septims from falmer and falmer chests? It makes sense because they also kill modern people and supposedly take their money. I'm just not sure if that's intentional or I need to do some more patching.

So I've been thinking. Would it be possible to use silver and gold coins during the barter and dialogue menus?

All the script would need to do is convert the gold and silver coins into copper coins and then add them back to reduce your inventory weight while still maintaining realism. That way it would be possible to carry 30,000 septims worth of coins in gold coins, which would only weigh 3 pounds!

I love the idea of different denominations! But I do have a question. I'm using the non-script version, and it seems to be working fine. I just got my first reward from a noble: 2 Gold Septims, which are worth 200 Copper [Normal] Septims.

As the non-scripted version is described, I have to trade these with a vendor to get money I can use. This kind of breaks the immersion, which you did say you can't change, but that's nothing compared to the fact that I haven't found a vender willing to give me the full value for my Gold Septims. For the aforementioned quest reward, the best I could get is 33 coppers per gold. That makes a quest reward that was 200 coppers be worth only 66 coppers.

I will try the scripted version tonight, and see if that's different. But if anyone else has experienced this, is there a fix?

I’ve used this mod in oldrim as well as SSE for years and I can safely say the script version has been a wonder in my load order. Although most users get worried when they see the word script, I can guarantee from continuous experience that the script version causes no issues in my 250+ mod load order. As for safe bloat? I’m not sure but I know this mod has never specifically caused any CTDs or anything like that, so you should be fine :)

I did install the scripted version, and the Silver and Gold Septims do get auto converted to their Copper Values, with no noticeable effect on gameplay. I haven't yet been able to catch if the auto conversions are accurate. I'll keep my eye on it and report back. But yes, the scripted version seems to run fine. I'm currently running over 125 mods, and no noticeable lag from this mod.

You can use the script free version of COT with this mod Exchange Currency SE

You can exchange every currency type to get the full values. You also have the option to exchange them into notes once you've acquired too many coins to carry if you added realistic coin weight. It's much more immersive and it might be what you're looking for.

Is there a way to make this mod work properly with Morrowloot Ultimate?
