For those updating to 1.8, 1.9 or 2.0 from a previous MERGED variant of this mod: You have to do a clean reinstall for it to work properly. The merged version, as stated in its description, is not safe to mid-save update so a clean reinstall is required. If you do not clean reinstall, you will have a 0.05 neardist value forced on VRIK on loading the game which will cause numerous graphical glitches.
To Clean Reinstall: 1. Uninstall vrik and vrik tweaks 2. Load game, save game and quit 3. Run FallrimTools Resaver and clean the save file 4. Install vrik and tweaks 5. Load the cleaned save file and play!
Edit: Ive now uploaded a 2.0 version of the tweaks that MAYBE prevent zombie scripts from setting the neardist to 0.05 and causing the graphical glitches. I cant say it will help for certain though and still recommend you clean your save as described above
Hi I’m not sure this mod works for me cuz I don’t see the mcm for some reason. How do I fix this? I got this mod specifically for switching to equipping spells with gestures
Manually Recording GESTURES works until yesterday.
I used Vrik Tweak abt 1 week, in that week i installed few another mods. (maybe this is the reason) Im novice in Ordering Plugins guess that would be the reason. Vortext shows many conflicts. Sadly cannot put here screenshots so i record 2 minutes video on youtube .
Here it is.
I will be very grateful if someone helps , thanks.
I'm having an issue with the gesture assignment power after fixing a bad FUS install. It's a bit of a weird one so I don't think it's a bug.
The Gesture Assignment power does not allow me to assign a spell to any direction which is not already used. So if I try to map a spell to an unused gesture, it simply does nothing: fails to recognise the gesture. But if I try to assign a spell to a gesture with a spell already in it, the gesture is recognised and the option to cancel/overwrite pops up.
It feels like this might be an issue with "unassigned" gestures from the FUS verification/reinstall, but I have no idea how to fix this, as the initial popup for VRIK gesture assignment power (allowing all unused gestures to be marked as "unassigned") never popped back up.
Hi, I have a suggestion I’d like to propose. Seeing how VRIK can save and equip armor and weapons as an outfit, do you recon it would be possible to use the gesture assignment power to save whatever is currently equipped as an outfit and assign it to a gesture? Outfits in particular are very cumbersome to manage manually in the mcm, this feature would be a huge QoL improvement I feel.
Thanks for the headsup. I've checked with vriks author and the 0.8.3 update does not affect these tweaks. They will continue to work on the new version. I've edited the file description to state it works on 0.8.2 *or higher* now.
I’m having some issues regarding the vampire lord concerning both Vrik and Arctals Tweaks , I’m not sure where to post so I’ll post on both pages but when I have Arctals mod enabled it seems to stop the vampire lord powers from equipping in the players hands and the same thing happens if I cast the vampire lord form with Vrik even without Arctals , also when manually assigning spells to Vrik gestures in the MCM some spells and powers aren’t in the dropdown menus that should be, would really love some help and would love to use Arctals again
I can’t get the assign gesture to work without pushing a button meaning if I wanna activate a spell by swiping right I can’t get it to work unless I push B and swipe right. Is that the way it supposed to work? by the video, it seems that all you have to do is swipe or move your hand without pushing the button. I can’t cancel the button push. How do I do that?
Yeah that's how it's supposed to work. You have to hold a button while swiping. Otherwise you would be casting accidental spells randomly all the time just because you were reaching out to pick up an item or reaching to unsheath a weapon or swing one.
Could you clarify about how the fall damage/rag-dolling works? This week I have been one-shotted a few times - I get hit by a spell by Hagraven's or Forsworn (not sure of the spell - looks like a black fireball) and there is an explosion and I am thrown about 50ft into the air and when I land the fall damage seems to kill me rather than the spell damage. So the question is this only happening because of the rag-dolling? In other words if I turned this off would I not be thrown into the air - or would that happen anyway and it is just the visual colour fade and invisible body that is different?
I am not sure why, but i have 0.82 of this mod and 0.82 of vrik, and my fneardistance will not save no matter what. :( for some reason, it defaults to 0.05, which causes several effects (like waterfalls, fire, and atmosphere fog) to be visible only in one eye. And i get fun flickering on mountains, and overall it just makes the game unplayable. And it is kinda annoying having to go into MCM every time i die/reload a save to change that setting D:
I updated to the new version without paying attention to the version log (didn't know what fneardistance actually is), and now some effects render only in one eye - looks horrible. I hope there is some fix for it. For now i'll just reinstall the older version i had.
I posted a lot of my troubleshooting over on VRIK Posts page and it seems like VRIK saves the nearClipDistance setting just fine by itself, but if I have VRIK Tweaks in my load order, it gets reset to 0.5 every time I load my save.
1.9 removed the only effect in this mod that touch the neardist value. However I'm wondering if you people maybe had the merged variant before? Cause there is no merged variant for 1.9 and if you changed from the merged to the unmerged on an ongoing save that's going to have strange consequences. One of those consequences may be that a zombie of the old neardist change effect is still alive and doing stuff on load.
I would recommend doing a clean reinstall (uninstall vrik and vrik tweaks, save game, quit, run resaver and clean the save file, reinstall vrik and tweaks). That will eradicate any remaining zombie scripts and effect lurking about
@MarkDwonn dont run vrik 0.8.2 together with the old 1.7 merged vrik tweaks. That will not end well. You'd be overwriting the 0.8.2 vrik file with its 0.8.1 version and also downgrading a script to 0.8.1. The consequences of which could be a whole heap of weird effects.
@Arctal I think it's caused by updating to 1.9 midsave. Old script is baked into the save and setting nearclipdistance to 0 because the value record for mcm it's using is now gone and that's normalised as 0.05 by vrik.
The value is still in the mod (but unused) for those that updated from the unmerged (which should be all FUS users and most others). The merged mod however was using the vrik esp which indeed now has lost all the variables when its replaced by the 0.8.2 vrik version. So yeah those that updated from merged 1.7 to 1.8 or 1.9 here will have problems. I did say on the merged variant description that i could not guarantee safe updating midsave. So i did warn people :D
I will add that warning to the patch notes as well here. And for those already affected: do a clean save reinstall like i described above and it should be fixed
I was one of those having issues with the nearClipDistance setting not saving correctly in 1.9, and I've followed the instructions to uninstall VRIK and Tweaks, load, save, clean, reinstall VRIK 0.82 and Tweaks 2.0; and now the setting keeps getting reverted to 10.0 after reloading, after I've set it to 13.0 in VRIK MCM.... but you know what, 10.0 is fine too so whatever lol
Reverted to 10??? Ok i have no idea what's going on there. Ive double, triple and quadruple checked that VRIK tweaks doesnt affect the neardist anymore since 1.8. And even if it did its default value is 13 on a new install so how it could possibly revert to 10 is beyond me.
Thanks for confirming it at least doesnt get set to 0.5 anymore...
Seemingly no. I tried disconnecting hands from controllers on ragdoll and it just resulted in the body T posing. Not saying its impossible though, just that I couldn't figure it out.

Anyway, thanks for this awesome mod :)

(Also: You mean 1.9 of this mod right?)
also, alright, i'll try that. thank you m8
I am certainly dropping v1.9, it makes the game unplayable.
