Actually, from my perspective you are actually being more lore friendly than Bethesda themselves. Bretons should by all intents look more like a cross between man and mer. Due to game limitations (I suppose) Bethesda made some nonsense that every Breton has only the dominant side of the nedic (or perhaps Atmoran) woman not the mer (elven) male side. It was one of the weakest rationales given. As though no Atmoran or rebelling Nedic man would never have been with a female mer. Not to mention that the child only looks like the mother, yeah really wish they had thought that one out some more. Anyway, your description just reminded me of that nonsense about "mixed races". I, for one, think that this mod is long overdue. Thank you for sharing it.
Thank you for your kind words, I personally was not fully aware, Skyrim was my first dip into the Elder scrolls series. I'm really happy you like them, and I will try and improve the mod.
The child doesn't look like the mother, it inherits the mother's race. Elements of the father can be present, but the child's race is decided entirely by who the mother is, which, incidentally, is why there are no more Snow Elves - the only non-Vampire one left is Gelebor, a male, and thus any offspring he has can only be the mother's race. Same with the Dwemer - aside from Yagrum Bagarn having corprus, which may or may not make him sterile, he is also male.
The Gray Prince in Oblivion is a good example of how breeding works in TES: his mother was an Orc, and his father was an Imperial vampire (Lord Lovidicus), and the vampire side is why he's pale like that and also so much faster and more agile than a regular Orc, as well as why his wounds close fast (as he mentions to you).
That's also why Bretons look more human than Elven. Their physical appearance comes from all the Nedic women that the Elves took as brides, while their magic aptitude is the result of literal hundreds of years of Elven blood being consistently mixed in those bloodlines, until it eventually became a stable racial trait. Even then, it's noted that some Bretons are occasionally born with more pointed ears than usual, but it's rare.
Beyond that? Half breeds don't exist. You can't be "half Nord", you can only be "Nord with possibly some non-Nord traits inherited from your father", for example. Even kids from the unions of Daedra and humans follow this rule. I believe it has to do with how the world was formed (it's technically the corpse of a God, after all), so there's very much a metaphysical reason behind it.
Greatly like these presets. I actually prefer them as you supplied due to re-oganising my presets into groups with MO2 so It's cool and I aint a lazy sod lol. I really like the wood elf most at the mo and will be using her for a new NPC. Many thanks for these and also for the fact they are not plastic dolls heads.
I'm so grateful that you like them, and that it wasn't too hard to set up, perhaps ill update my pervious mod with files like these as an optional for those like yourself. Ps the wood elf is my favourite too... :-)
Sorry so what should I do, should I make a folder and rename it with folders inside it like the way you have shown it then zip the entire thing. Thanks for the help regardless, I have made presets before but we are literally talking years. All help appreciated, thank you.
Then zip it all up and run a test by removing the preset files if you have them manually dropped and import that zipped file to your Mod Manager and install. Once you can see they show once you do, then you have a file that can be setup for Mod Manager DL.
Well I gave it a try I think this is how Normal presets work but because they are RaceMenu files ( .jslot ) the race menu is not picking them up fully, you can I believe see them but it lacks my personal face sculpture work which defeated the point, I'm stumped at this point.
If you want to include the sculp data you need to save it separately in Racemenu and then package it in the folder structure SynthWendigo described, next to (but not in) presets.
While I do run High Poly Head, theres still something to be said for the lack of well done vanilla presets like these to use as more of a friendly base to model our characters with. They look rather on point, and will be using the Dunmer on my next Thief/Assassin run for sure. Thanks for these.
Thanks for this mod, wish there were more. Some of these guys have MAD skills when it comes to editing, modding and making characters, unfortunately they have really s**t taste in women and make bleeding mutant zombie dolls with Botox addictions that all look alike or just plain circus freaks.
I 100% get you, I mean what they make definitely looks like it takes tons of skill, just doesn't dit into the game. Maybe people just play Skyrim these days just to get turned on and not actually play the game.
