Thank you so much for this GREAT mod. Without this mod I can't play with followers. Now the followers only help me a little and this is perfect to me. Thank you so much. Ahhh. And Is working in Skyrim VR. Thanks.
So a quick question, how do you get companions to equip the rings? I traded both the rings and they are just sitting in their inventory.... I am using EFF.
I haven't tested it with EFF. Vanilla companion inventory trades seem to just put the ring on from the few tests I ran. Does EFF have some type of force outfit system for companions or a replacement for the vanilla trading?
Edit: I ran a quick test and my companion seemed to put the ring on with EFF when I traded it over with the Equip option from the EFF UI companion wheel. They also put the ring on if you go for the vanilla dialogue trade. If the companion is refusing to put on the ring, it's likely because something else with better stats is covering body slot 55. Slot 55 is usually used as an alternative jewelry slot by other mods. I doubt someone would have marked it for custom armor or something, but it might be worth checking to see if the companion wears the ring with different gear if they have custom stuff on.
If they still refuse to wear the ring, you can open SSEedit and give the rings 1 armor value to see if they finally decide it's worth wearing it.
Am on a Living Skyrim 3 playthrough, and currently on the road with five followers. I love their interaction (plus the additional storage space they give you), but not how easily - even on legendary difficulty - they kill a group of bandits or what nots.
Having used Ashien's rings in the old days, I gave this solution here a go.
That said, I have these followers at the moment who DO wear the ring:
Hoth
Toccata
Erandur
However, these two for some reason won't equip any of them:
Zora Fair-Child (from Interesting NPCs), and
Lucien.
Am using NFF as follower's framework, but somehow playing around with it hasn't helped me (Lucien isn't managed via NFF anyway). Will revert here if I find out what one can do to resolve it.
Hi it would be better if it affected health, not damage. the health of followers is the problem as they take low damage and regen like fucking wolverine,
Just physical weapon damage. Magic damage requires other mods to tweak properly. The cursed rings this mod was inspired by, required ASIS to get destruction decreases working properly. I didn't really want to dive into figuring that stuff out. I don't tend to use mage followers often myself and magic scaling isn't exactly insane for companions.
Your comment gave me an idea: You could potentially add the damage decreasing perks via Spell Perk Item Distributor (SPID) instead of using rings. Same goes for decreasing magic damage. SPID can easily apply these perks automatically to a follower class using keywords.
Just released a quick fix to change bodyslots, so if you have any issues grab it. As for SPID, the only reason I stuck to the basics was for console support. Consoles are pretty locked down on the type of stuff they have access to. Wanted to keep things simple so I could easily port over.

I can't have mage followers. A pity.
:(
Does it work with standalone followers, like Inigo, Sofia, Recorder, Auri, Vilja, etc?
