NOTICE: Any characters that are in the process of, or that have completed the Volkihar questline will have Xelzaz abandon them after updating or installing the mod. This will happen even if Xelzaz hasn't been recruited yet, Xelzaz will simply continue on to High Rock on his lonesome. This will happen on new saves with the update installed too. If you wish to have Xelzaz along for the Volkihar questline, please bring him along when you are joining the Vampire Clan for the first time.
This is the first time I've received the farewell note, but I was wondering if Xelzaz would return?

I have at least +500 disposition with him in my current playthrough. He has agreed to travel with me across Skyrim and I have not started Dark Brotherhood. I was doing the Goldenglow mission in Thieves' Guild storyline, and I asked him to wait temporarily outside the mansion's door. When I cleared that house, I went outside to find him missing, and a farewell letter. I used console and found him at the border, but he's busy as he is under a package control. Do I need to reload to before I asked him to wait or will he return after some point? Thank you for the amazing follower too!
You know, it's fun having Xelzaz, Remiel, and Redcap along so I can hear the great triple companion banter... but then I do quests Xelzaz has comments on, and I remember that he's a raging asshole and prejudiced to the max, and you can't truly ever confront him about that. He's also way too "meta" as a companion. Yes Xelzaz, I know I shouldn't be guild leader so soon and sometimes game logic doesn't translate over to real logic, but I'm the f*#@ing Dragonborn and you don't ALWAYS have to be negative about things.
I can't remember the last time he said something that didn't sound like Meta-commentary or wasn't negative in some way.
This is an amazing mod, and I've had Xelzaz along for 150+ hours now... but damn he sucks as a person!
Hello, maybe i missed it in the description, but is there a way to marry him? I gotta say he's one of my favorite companions. Him and Lucien are my go tos.
I absolutely adore this mod, it's easily my favorite follower mod and it's not even close.
Xelzaz's response to vampirism is very much in character for who he is at base, but it would be exceptional if there were an option to turn him to vampirism himself with commensurate shifts in his personality.
so like Xalzezs upgraded armor is cliping into its self its not too bad but i feel like it kinda breaks the immersion is theyre any way to fix it. also his scarf is missing for some reason
This looks amazing and can't wait to try it out. I love the art on the mod description page too!
I see you put what other custom followers he's compatible with (which has lead me to discover some other cool followers) so I'm guessing I have my question answered already since he's not there - but - does he have any interactions with Smartbluecat's Inigo? Currently running him with Lucien.
Randomly stumbled on him, playing a modlist so did not even know about the mod. It has been such a great experience. Such an amazing work on his spontaneous comments and the voicelines generally.
I have a question that needs to be solved: Remiel and Xelzaz had a heated argument after discussing the magic of the dead and the corpses. Then Remiel said to Xelzaz, "Yes, Xelzaz. You're a bad person.", and Xelzaz replied, "I'm sorry you feel that way." They haven't communicated for a long time. During this period, Xelzaz tried to communicate with Remiel again but got no response. How long will it take for them to resume normal communication? ?
Just wanted to say that i love Xelzaz, i've used him a lot between three different playthroughs and he never gets old, but in my current playthrough im playing as an orc and Xelzaz really says some MEAN things about that race. Things like how orichalcum is green and reckless like the race it is called after or wondering how long the lifespan of orcs would be if they did not base their lives around battling and killing each other, wow bro, generalization much? Now, im not saying he should not be saying stuff like this, i like that he is absolutely NOT a moral character and his inclination towards harvesting dead bodies for ingredients should be proof enough for that but i feel like his plain racism is pretty out of left field, especially since i have used him with a redguard and an altmer and he had nothing as mean to say about them (if my memory serves me right, correct me if im wrong).
Is there a part of his backstory that explains his prejudice against orcs, is there a part of lore i am missing about clashes between argonians/telvanni and orsimer? Even nords do not say things like that. It just makes me uneasy for the next time we're farming smithing, making gold necklaces together with him and Remi and he drops another out of pocket racist bar like that (lol)
Orcs are historically discriminated against, in oblivion they have -5 to disposition with all races except each other, and were called Pariah Folk at some point. It took an entire Dragon Break for them to gain equality with other races. Then you have the fact that Xelzaz is Telvanni, which have a giga superiority complex with rare exceptions (notably Ayren). These 2 combined gives you the result, which I consider pretty lore accurate.
Xelzaz pokes fun at pretty much every race, but he doesn't really 'hate' any of them. Most of the time it is a joke or comment on stereotypes. The ones getting dragged through the mud the most is the Nords, but that is natural as that is where the game is set and they are quite different compared to both his Telvanni and Argonian heritage. If you want races he actually doesn't like, it'd probably be the Sload most of all. Maormer he doesn't speak very highly of, but he wouldn't say he hates them.
Essentially, he doesn't have more prejudice towards any of the "civilized" races than the average person. As for goblins and other "primitive" races he is rather dismissive.
Setting up my Dunmer playthrough and was wondering if it would be safe to install the Tel Jerdein patch mid playthrough? Reason being is that the Tel Jerdein mod is currently set to hidden.
It only includes comments and packages that allows Xelzaz to venture around every cell in the house when he stays there. So it likely wouldn't be an issue.

From version 1.12.3 onwards you need to have Backported Extended ESL Support installed if you aren't on the most recent version of Skyrim.
Struggling to find Frost Lilies? A guide to all of them can be found here.
