Just to be up-front and clear about the origins of these gloves:
I didn't know about the gloves added by Dawnguard's DLC at the time I made this.
Honestly, I've never seen the DLC's "Vampire Gloves" or "Black Gloves" added by it until people pointed out their existence.
After reading up on that particular pair, I can see why I hadn't found any personally, as they're very one-off and tied into a radiant quest involving the Dawnguard.
Thankfully the work I put into this pair makes my Black Gloves match up more like vanilla's Warlock / Black Robe textures.
As a result, hopefully these two pairs of gloves can coexist somehow.
Thank you for reading, downloading, supporting, and enjoying more gloves!

Technically, the black variant of the gloves already exists in the vanilla game, it's called "vampire gloves" and can be obtained only via a specific radiant quest for the Dawnguard.

But this mod is still a great idea, for players who want to obtain black gloves through other, simpler means. Good job !

Ah, thank you for showing me that. I thought others were talking about the Vampire Armor Gloves, the ones with "claws" I guess. Those are easily found on the more common Vampires throughout the game, provided the Dawnguard DLC is installed.

I'll still keep these up regardless, as having read that article there, the vanilla Vampire Gloves sound like a lot of work to get. Thanks for the praise and info!

Also, I'm considering expanding this mod a bit to cover other robe variants and colors, as well. Will keep the same name for the .ESP, of course. But first, I might add my black gloves to a few more leveled outfits before going that length. Once that bit is done, I'll keep that update's version as an optional file for those who just want the black gloves, while the main file will have more variants.

I'd imagine having different colored gloves for different purposes (maybe enchanting, for example?) would be really fun! Stay tuned!

It has always annoyed me that there are only like one or two non-armor gloves in the vanilla game that you can enchant, and I can't seem to find mods adding more gloves. So more gloves with different colors would definitely be a great idea I think !
I found this mod : Mage Apparel, which adds three more gloves models for the College mages, but it might cause some compatibility issues for a few players, because the mod replaces some vanilla clothes.

    What does v1.1 change?

The V1.1 update removed the .esl flag, as some testing and research found it was causing errors when sorting the load order. See some of the other posts on this page for details on that development. Currently the main mod file doesn't have the flag anymore, and probably for the better.

You can safely replace / overwrite the BlackGloves.esp from the older versions with the later versions, though any gloves you had on beforehand might not be in your inventory anymore when loading a save that was previously using the old (erroneously) .ESL flagged version. Not too much a problem, as they will still be purchasable from Radiant Raiment and lootable from Warlocks around the province. Make sure to rebuild the Bashed Patch, too, just to be safe!

I am currently working on adding these gloves to other magic-focused NPC Outfit leveled lists, mainly ones who commonly wear black robes by default. For example, Fire, Ice, and even Storm Mages might have them, as well as some Necromancers. That update will be v1.2 . Stay tuned!

LOOT throws up an error when you sort your load order, stating that this mod makes edits beyond the scope of an ESL or something like that. It also said that this would cause irreparable damage to your game saves. The error went away when I removed the ESL flag.

Maybe LOOT is wrong, or maybe the mod .esp needs compacting first and then setting the ESL flag.

I'll give it a looking into, thanks for the information!

Edit/Update 1: So, I tested things on my end, ran LOOT in ModOrganizer 2 via the "Sort" button as well as via the LOOT tool itself, and no errors were found. I'll double check with Wrye Bash here in a bit.

Edit/Update 2: Checking complete, yeah, you're right, it can't be an .ESL-flagged plugin it seems, due to new forms being higher than 0xFFF . Must have happened due to me editing things after making it .ESL flagged.

I'll update the mod immediately. Thank you for helping out!

Thanks for updating your mod to a non ESL version.
(I just upgraded my LOOT tool plugin to the latest version of LOOT, which also found this in your version 1.0;  I just re-downloaded version 1.1 and endorsed.)

Yeah makes you wonder why at least a Black Glove alternative was in the base game. Thanks for making this.
