    This finally fixed the issue I was having with Dynamic Activation Key and using left shift to toggle actions, which would then result in walk and run being toggled as well. Thank you!

    Amazing!But I really need a AE version(1.6.640).
    I've been using your fix for my SE version for a very long time.Now I really can't play without it!So plz!!!!

      In addition,I got Skyrim Souls RE - Updated installed on my new AE game version.I tried to convert it,and all I got is a piece of s#*!,I made it all wrong!

    Thank you for this fix it really helps! I still have issues however with holding shift while doing actions, where it'll basically do the same thing and keep you stuck in the walking mode. It's easier to avoid, but it'd be awesome if you or someone else knew how to fix that

      same, neither this or the "modern" one which doesnt use skse fixes the problem completely

    i thought this would fix the issue where the player defaults to "toggle walk" instead of "toggle run".

      Is that a thing in AE?  It keeps happening to me on this playthrough, but I thought it was just me accidentally hiiting the key on my new laptop

      i think the issue happens when running through "doors"... not certain.

      Haha, I didn't think there was anyone who would want to walk by default in this game.

      Sure, I'll fix it in a day or two when I have some time.

      Doesn't require the script extender so it works for those still on 1.5.97. I wonder how this mod is different from the mod I linked. Besides being a script extender plugin.

      The skse fix was apparently already done on LE, but :

      I received the information that there are some problems with this plugin's implementation. It uses a separate thread with cycle on it which constantly spams data in memory if Shift key is not pressed, right from the game startup. Kind of a brute force approach. It crashes the game sometimes on startup (almost certainly), as it not goes well with LE ENB's and SKSE's memory management systems. This info I acquired from my friend with wide Skyrim modding experience, he analyzed this plugin for a long time. " according to @ uranreactor .

      The mod you linked does not work with Skyrim Souls RE and does not fix the problem when crossing load doors, only when opening menus.

      This new implemetation alex7734 made is great! And it has source code on github so we can see how exactly it works. 
      Really awesome to finally get rid of this bug. I knew my approach with controlmap.txt wasn't the ultimative one (and worked only for menus) and just waited someone who could fix this on engine level properly. And eventually it happened.
