So, this mod only replaces candles and not lanterns? Im asking because I have LOSII installed. And do I need this if I have already installed rudy misc mod and rudification mod?
This mod replaces the default lanterns with this new model so yes it is still needed with LOS2. and yes you need this as well as Rudy misc and rudifixation
ideally, you should do the same on meshes\dlc02\loadscreenart\loadscreenadventure02.nif, meshes\loadscreenart\loadscreenadventure01.nif and meshes\loadscreenart\loadscreenshopsmagic01.nif
Couple questions, which options should I check when installing Rudy's MISC? Is it JUST the lantern option that is needed? as there are various options related to candles/lanterns. Also where do medieval silverworks and medieval candlehorns fit into the equation? as ENB Light apparently requires those yet they conflict with Rudy Misc.
also the ENB particle light file is not packaged properly for MO2 / Vortex install.
SMIM -> Medieval candlehorn -> Medieval silveworks -> ENB Light -> this mod (the needed textures are included in SMIM and Medieval Silverwork).
If you want to install some or all options from Rudy's Misc, do it after ENB Light but before this mod. There will be some meshes conflicts with mathy79's mods, now is just a question of preference
Candles already emits light so there is no need of an "ENB version". The optimized mod just change the way vanilla candles (and patched ones) emit that light.
Love this mod. One quick update though. If you try and install the ENB optional file using a mod manager, it doesn't have a folder structure so it won't overwrite the correct models to be used. It just sits there on it's own looking lonely lol.
ENB Light version uses billboard dummy texture textures\universal\enblightglow.dds which isn't distributed with the mod, causing DynDOLOD to throw an error about missing textures. You can just use the vanilla textures\black.dds.
Works fine for me, when installing blowing in the wind, select the “SMIM lanterns option”. My lanterns do not adjust the size so this sounds like a different mod.
I wish someone would make mod with these lanterns replacing torches. Emmiting ENB light instead of normal one (which breaks the lightsource limit in cities)
Oh, I should've specified that I meant handheld torches, that guards often carry. I guess it would be fairly non-itrusive with SPID. So it wouldn't replace item in the game, but it would replace it in inventories of guards.
Actually just added something similar to my modlist, a SPID distribution of Simple Lanterns. https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/61003 Not sure that it replaces torches per say, but there is the option for all guards and miners to have wearable iron lanterns.
I think I had a mod like that when I modded LE. Guards would occasionally use lanterns instead of torches searches for it Ah yes here it is: Lanterns for Guards etc
Can't tell you about incompatibilities and stuff tho, but it probably requires patching on your end depending on your load order. And first of all it requires a port which is fairly simple to do
