   This sounds (!) awesome. =) Will the setting carry over to a new game as well or does it only write to the savefile ?

      SSE Engine Fixes saves the mod-added sound categories to an ini file, so I guess that with it the setting would be carried over.
      Anyway, as long as you have this installed you have the volume slider -- it wouldn't take long to set it again in a new game.
