This is intended to be a temporary fix until the official .bsa is corrected. The mod will be archived after an official fix is released. Free for use however one sees fit.

I believe winzip and winrar will also open .7z archives if you happen to have one of those.
Once you get it open, the first folder should be called "textures". Move that "textures" folder and all of it's contents (drag textures and drop in data) to the data folder where you have Skyrim installed:
......\Steam\steamapps\Common\Skyrim Special Edition\Data
Textures needs to go into data to end up like below:
......\Steam\steamapps\Common\Skyrim Special Edition\Data\Textures\......
Hi, even after installing this mod I keep having a ctd. I'm on 1.5.97.0 downgraded from the latest version using halgari's downgrader. I tried to install this mod manually and through MO2 but to no avail. Any tips on what should I do to finally enter that damned barrow?
Update 1.6.343 came just as I had finalized my load order for my AE run... no way I'm updating and dealing with the headache of getting all my mods compatible again. This mod is a godsend
Gotta love how it took Bethesda 20+ days to get off their asses and do something. Meanwhile the modding community fixes their broken games nearly overnight. Thanks for the fix bLaCkShAd0w! I was using this the last few days after "updating" to AE, only for BGS to break SKSE again this morning.
Hi, i still get solstheim crashes with this mod, or without this mod. i am fully updated. im pretty sure this is because of the update's because i have zero mods that affect solstheim. any suggestions? will bethesda fix the solstheim crash at some point? ive seen like 10 posts here and on steam community all saying they crash at solstheim after AE update. thanks.
No, it is not manditory. The proper fixed textures will simply be replaced with the edited ones from here with contrast adjustment if left in. Remove them whenever you like.

The mod is in a .7z file. You need a free program to open it. (It's just a compressed archive to save on file size.)

Then play the game!
I am on midplaythrough so I can not update the game, this is a game saver fix, endorsed
