About this mod

Adds a small barracks and lightly-manned border post to Rorikstead. Guards have AI packages with schedules for sleep, training and relaxing at the Inn.
In other words, they act more like completed characters and less like the half-assed effort that went into most guards.

Adds a small barracks and lightly-manned border post to the road leading North out of Rorikstead.
Guards work in shifts, spending their days working, sleeping training and relaxing.  In other words, they act more like completed characters and less like the half-assed effort that went into most guards.

Border posts like this would be aimed more at regulating (read: taxing) trade and controlling banditry rather than being dedicated military installations.

- Guards spend six hours per day sleeping, six training then relaxing, and work two shifts of six hours each.
- If Rorikstead's allegiance changes during the civil War, so will the guards.   Same as in vanilla.
- Guards will use Whiterun Guard Cuirass, Whiterun Guard shields and Whiterun guard helmets and have the display name of "Whiterun Hold Guard" regardless of CW faction allegiance.  As the PC levels, the guards' gloves and boots will get minor upgrades.  Up to Scaled for Stormcloak aligned guards, and up to Imperial Heavy for Imperial aligned guards.
- Guard weapons and arrows will increase in quality and effectiveness as the PC levels, up to Nordic quality.
The above equipment upgrades, in addition to adding guards to the border post and adding a second shift of guards patrolling the town does significantly increase the total guard strength in Rorikstead.

Non Guard Related changes:
- Added a beehive and bees to the SE corner of the barracks.   Rorikstead is supposed to be a farming community with better than average crop yields.  Bees are an important contributor to pollination.
- Added a hawk flying over the town.   Chickens beware??
- Added occlusion cubes inside existing town buildings and the barracks.  These are normally added in larger/busier settlements to decrease GPU workload.  I don't know that Rorikstead is large enough to benefit from this at all, but I'm fairly certain it also won't hurt.

Installation:
With a mod manager or manually, whichever you prefer.  Same as most mods.

USSEP:
This mod was made with USSEP installed, but it is not a required master.  USSEP is recommended because it fixes a plethora of bugs.

SKSE:
The guard training quests require SKSE.  The rest of the mod may work without SKSE, but that part certainly won't.

Arthmoor's Rorikstead:
There's an optional download that gives schedules to the two guards added by his mod, so they act like the rest of the guards.

JK's Skyrim:
A separate compatibility patch is available.

Expanded Towns and Cities (ETaC):
Not compatible.

For other modders:
the barracks and border post were added to cell -22, 3.   The only NavMesh edits were limited to that cell.

Seated guards in the screenshots removed their helmets because of this mod.
Guards in some screenshots are using circlets from JS Armored Circlets SE which is part of my personal modlist and how I play the game.   This mod does not do that.  Guards will still be wearing normal guard helmets.
