You found the realistic, medieval take on a fisherman's outfit "deplorable", so you made it look like MODERN COWBOY cosplay... I mean no shade, but that is kinda funny.
Actually I really appreciate the worn look of the roughspun fabric textures, and considering that iron hooks and artificial tackle has been used for thousands of years in various parts of the world, I think this is fine (bone and bronze was used for artificial lures, painted for certain fishes, and tied nymph/fly lures are an old art too). Also the tall, soft leather boots? Much nicer for wading and more comfy than modern rubbers, I bet, if you get them nice and oiled. Also, short vests don't get wet when you wade further into the water, ugh I hate that when fly fishing.
So I guess if you want to roleplay a peasant in a burlap sack, this cushy but functional fishing gear wouldn't quite fit the bill. But it's hardly a cowboy cosplay. I mean I could link you to those? If you're interested in comparing. No shade of course.
...meanwhile, tons of tiddies armors in this website got thousands of DLs and endorsements; yet we can't handle a modern cowboy cosplay. Had I known, I should've turned the trousers into thongs. Maybe that'll get a pass from people.
I *love* your aesthetic. I would have already put all my fishers in this but the rest of the NPCs would just get sad they don't look half as fab and cheery.
A question about the fishing rod, what catch effect does it have? Like how you can only catch certain fish with only the Argonian and Alik'r rods? Or did you somehow make it to where you can catch any fish in any weather?
