Syerscote SE 2.2 - Readme
A modification for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim by savm96UK (Sam Vincent)
--What is Syerscote?--
Syerscote is an interesting new settlement for you, the player, to explore, interact with and live in. The mod is complete with custom voiced NPC's, new lore-friendly meshes, 2 quests to determine the owning faction of the town, and a purchasable and improvable player home, in the same style as vanilla Skyrim's house purchase mechanics.
The SE version is currently supported by Wheelymike (me) but it's still very much Sam's mod. Send your praise to him and any complaints to me.
--Version 2.2 (SE)
- Marked all previously deleted references as disabled.
- Provided a loose files version for those having issues with the BSA
- A few other, tiny miscellaneous improvements.
- This is (very) likely to be the last update to the main file.
--Version 2.1 (SE)
- Remade BSA to avoid issues with Synthesis.
- Restored navmeshes that the CK randomly decided to yeet out of existence in the last update (Cecell).
- Some other small plugin tweaks and optimisations.

- Forwarded last few USSEP and Update.esm waterflow records into all plugins.
- Released Northern Marsh Bridges patch.
--Version 2.0 (SE)
- Numerous cosmetic enhancements to the town exterior.
- Removed placed signs with missing meshes from the plugin.
- Made it possible for Sam Guevene to spawn in the inn.
- Added support for radiant quests à la Arthmoor.
- The town can now be attacked by dragons and vampires (potentially anomalies too).
- Placed more NPC markers.
- Further tweaked and expanded the AI of the NPCs.
- Edited some of the texts (was slightly more sober than when I wrote them).
- Gave the beggar something to eat.
- Added collision markers so it's now possible for the player to parkour along the town's rooves.
- Overhauled exterior lighting to eradicate visual bugs.
- Further edited interior lighting to minimise the flickering that some people were experiencing.
- Tweaked navmeshes to accommodate lighting changes.
- Added occlusion planes to some interiors.
- Added a missing texture to the BSA to prevent rare crashes.
- Made more items in NPC houses owned and added more stuff to steal.
- Further edited the appearance of some previously untouched NPCs.
- (GCoS Patch) Tweaked navmeshes to reflect base plugin changes.
- (LoSII Patch) Reworked the lantern placements to reduce the incidence of visual bugs and increase compatibility with the ESD patch.
- Released ESD Patch + Expansion.
- Released Listen Patch.
- Released Windstad Road-Ferry Patch.
--Version 1.2 (SE)
- Smoothened terrain and roads (SmauXy).
- Fixed problem with textures not rendering for the docks and a certain wall section.
- Created new FormIDs for the Firebrand Wine and Black Briar Private Reserve bottles in the inn to avoid quest problems.
- Added a few trees and other ambient details.
- Renavmeshed the town exterior to restore deleted navmeshes and further improve functionality.
- Fixed issue with unresolved FormIDs.
- Released GCoS Patch.
--Version 1.1 (SE)
- Fixed stray Waterflow records.
- Corrected typo.
- Sorry for this one folks. Next one won't be so abrupt.
- Released LoS II Patch (by SmauXy).
- (LoS II Patch) Fixed some minor clipping.
- Released HD Texture Pack (permissions granted by WiZkiD).
--Version 1.0 (SE)
- Removed wild edits.
- Corrected waterflow for SE.
- Forwarded USSEP changes.
- Adjusted interior lighting for modded lighting setups (also made the interiors slightly brighter)
- Replaced hanging clothes with rugs and removed alphas to eradicate visual bugs.
- Removed alpha on balconytop.nif for compatibility with ENB.
- Added additional dialogue to initiate the Stormcloak quest.
- Flagged the town's major structures as IsFullLOD to prevent pop-in.
- Fixed the Stormcloak quest script so there aren't duplicates of Hulgard afterwards.
- Changed the townsfolk's AI data so they no longer tolerate the murder of their friends.
- Added several texts with detailed lore to the town.
- Added some small details to the town exterior.
- Made it 99% less likely that the crafting tools in the player home will take flight when the player goes near them.
- Overhauled the AI of the NPCs to make the town more lively.
- Reworked the navmeshing for interiors and the town square for fluid NPC movement.
- Added idle markers around the town for NPCs.
- Removed beard from female court mage.
- Edited some of the NPC's facegen to make them a little more distinctive.
- Added a couple of Easter eggs for good measure.
--Version 2.0 (LE)--
- Minor Bugfixes
- Minor clipping issues
--Installation--
Simply put all data from the .rar file into your data folder
--Bugs, Glitches and Errors--
-Still a 0.01% chance the repair hammer and mortar & pestle in the player house will take glorious flight when nudged (harmless).
-Player may be teleported again to the site of the execution sequence a few seconds after it ends (harmless).
-Inn patrons may levitate slightly on some of the inn's seats (harmless - also probably vanilla).
-Interior lighting may be a little dark depending on your lighting setup. Should only prove an issue at extremes.
-Teensy weensy lighting bug with one of the fireplaces in the mayor's manor (harmless)
-There may still be a couple of minor exterior lighting bugs if using the ESD patch and LoS II Patch together due to the total sum of light sources both add. Shouldn't be too noticable, though.
If you run into any trouble whilst using the mod, please let me know by sending me a message or comment on the Nexus.
