Updates: - Remade Aspen/Birch, (some) Spruce and (almost all) Pine Models. - Overhauled all the regions with new species for more natural variety. - The rivers around some places now have wetland Alder, but they're most common around riverwood/falkreath. - Added a variety of over 100 new tree models to fit the ulvenwald aesthetic. - Added 8 new tree species - Norwegian Red Pine, Scots Pine, Ash, Alder, Oak, Elm, Sycamore, Douglas Fir. - Falkreath has been remade, adding new species variation and a couple "unique" locations. Now features all of the new species. - Whiterun Tundra now hosts scots pine, ash, and occasional spruce/fir. - Eastmarch dominated by new red pine models, also has some alder, ash and sycamore added. - Morthal Swamp is currently just dead pine trees since I cannot decide what to do with it. - Haafingar is mostly spruce and douglas fir, but also has some birch, ash and sycamore added. - Rift now features Birch, Elm, Sycamore and rarely Oak all in their autumn colours. Colours in Rift now feature some "transitional" colours.
Extra Info: - not all things in the game are retextured/replaced, some driftwoods use default texture paths because I don't mind how they look. - I probably won't make new models for the fallen trees and probably won't use quixel models for them either since I don't think megascans fit the mods aesthetic.
Fixes: -Fixed Sleeping Tree -Fixed Various Beehive/Bird nest mesh issues (the ones I could find) -Fixed Various issues with textures not being replaced properly for unique regions <--REGARDING SEASONS SUPPORT--> -This *M A Y* be something I do after I'm happy with the general state of the mod. It will take me a long time though, I have 617 models in this mod as of right now with base references that ALL need separate season models and references, it will take me a long time and I'm not willing to do that right now, but it may be a project I do in the future.
After a lot of pain and suffering, Ulvenwald is now seasons compatible! A lot of people were asking for this and honestly I am pleased with the results, I hope you all are too! some changes: -no more firs in Haafingar due to seasons compatibility issues in my esp.
Be sure to report any problems you have so I can hopefully fix it at some point.
Thank you all for your continued support, you guys help make all the hard work worth it! <3
Updates: - Updated some tree placements around the tundra and falkreath, only some minor stuff. - Colour matched the pine textures better, and changed some oak, elm and birch textures for winter. - Seasons and non Seasons version is now an all in one.
Fixes: - Fixed some floaty terrain and trees - Fixed the floaty log issue hopefully - Fixed the bushes that looked like they were underwater - Fixed the floating mushrooms (I think, tell me if you find more)
Was the 4K version that overkill? I mean, my pc is a beast, so it was running those 4k textures quite handsomely, but I completely understand that you ended up not proposing the 4k textures anymore: mods need to be for everyone, even on potatoe pcs. How much of fps drop are we talking about? Is there a really big difference visually speaking in the end? 2k looks good, anyway, but I just wanted to know ;)
I play on a 3080ti and in some areas it was like a 10fps difference. I play on 1440p and I don't notice a visual difference, so unless you are on 4k the mod should basically look the same. There isn't a single triple A game that runs 4k textures for their flora unless its a unique model.
I can provide some feedback on resolution. I've got a 3840x2160 display (also 3080ti) and comparing my gameplay screenshots side by side on the same trees, 2K Ulvenwald is exactly identical to 4K from a short to medium distance. Up close there is some difference but that's only with my character's face right up against the tree trunks (btw I have 20/10 vision). Trees don't benefit from 4K anywhere near as much as landscape/rocks do because those are way more stretched out than any tree.
And yes it's noticeably improved the random stuttering in heavily forested areas. I think these new Ulvenwald textures are more optimised or something.
Updates/Changes: - Added animations to all relevant trees in the game, and for all seasons. - Some meshes will have changed due to them either not being compatible or just being better suited to the new animations - The collision on some of the animated trees is not ideal, due to scaling issues with the collision inside the nif. 1 Aspen has no collision currently. - Draw calls will be much higher as a result of the new animation nodes, so if you experience lag or low fps be sure to use the older version of the mod - One of the shorter oaks has tiny but noticeable gaps at the base of the mesh, can be changed at a later date, right now as long as everything works I'm happy
Amazing mod, really transforms the forests and can't imagine Skyrim without it
Only negative is "pineshrub03" - it replaces a small ground lying shrub with this skinny 6 foot tall tree thing and, because the original plant wasn't intrusive and was placed on roads and such, you end up with this frankly ugly looking baby pine everywhere in the way. Would recommend everyone go to the meshes folder of the mod and just delete that file (and the snow variant)
i LOVE this mod!! but i wanna use a different mod for the snowy pines, so i was curious if its as simple as just deleting the meshes and textures within the mods files or if thatll break things
Hi! New to modding. Can I install this without installing the requirements mods that you put below? I tried it and it seems functioning. It appears that required mod are optional. I don't need changing season. Just a lively forest. I installed the complete version and everything works fine. Do you really intended to make it a dependent mod? Thank you
My most used and favorite complete-tree mod!!! Trees are unique and if people are seeking a complete overhaul to the vanilla, this is the mod. Thank you for creating such a wonderful world wigfrid!!!
I got a little question though.
Where are the texture files used on Swamp Tree01-04.nif ? I cannot find them in the texture folders. Are they a mix of the others ?
I was trying to swap a tundradriftwood01-02 of blubbo's(Mor Khazgur) tree mod with the swamp trees of ulvenwald since they are so beautiful. but sadly I cannot figure out the texture files. (trees are purple now)
P.S. : The swapped trees are floating as well, if someone would knew how to fix that, gratitude !!! : When I swapped them with your tundradriftwood01-02, it worked perfectly though.
Texture fix update : I was able to fix the texture issue by correcting the file paths. Only thing left is the floating issue. I will further test things and update this post.
lite version messes up water near morthal and causes seams. i narrowed it down to ulvenwald using modmapper. I am using simplicity of sea as my water mod.
EDIT: for others experiencing this issue, loading Vanilla Worldspace Water Seam Fix after ulvenwald lite but before SoS seems to have fixed the issue for me.
There's one little tree in Solstheim that floats in the air right next to the Severin Manor. (I use Lux, Simple Raven Rock, etc. so I don't know if it floats in vanilla also but still think it's good to share because nothing seems to edit this tree) [v43] [REFR:0401DF5D] I simply changed its Z position to 508.730988 and it floats no more.

What is the snow variants file name?
Removed the files in "C" drive and in User folder. Worked like a charm. No more Charlie Brown Christmas trees.I got a little question though.
