So I've read all the books after getting the sword but I don't have the option to improve it even though I have 100 smithing and all perks. Am I missing something?
Hi. I found the Altar, got through the trials, have the sword. The next stage says "Check in with Eorlund Gray-Mane" but he's not marked and doesn't seem to have anything to say apart from the usual. Am I doing something wrong?
Hmm, this was an error in testing that I thought I had resolved. I'll do some digging and try to figure out why it has resurfaced, it seems to only happen on certain saves as it affects some people but not others, which is strange as the script that triggers the second quest is not reliant on any other scripts or quests, though there may be some kind of conflict with one of the NPCs causing the aliases to not get filled.
Will update once I know more, until then feel free to skip through the bugged stages if you'd like, I'm not sure when I'll be able to root out the problem.
Also, if I may ask, are you running any mods that alter Eorlund/Beirand/Oengul/Ghorza? Immersive NPCs or Immersive Citizens? I may need to make a compatibility patch for those mods.
Try out the version that I just uploaded when you get the time. I suspect it may be another quest calling one of these four NPCs as Reserved, and I forgot to allow my aliases to fill on Reserved actors. Thank you, and I apologize for the inconvenience.
One thing after another. Now I don't have a map marker for the Altar. There's a shack full of bandits in the general area which I don't think was there before I installed this mod, but it doesn't seem to contain any clues as to direction, and the Altar is so small on the outside it's practically impossible to locate among all those mountains; I even tried coc'ing, but that didn't update the quest, obviously. I've reinstalled the mod from scratch, re-read the book, re-killed the bandits, and I'll have another go tomorrow, probably.
Something was preventing the first quest's aliases from being filled. Really not sure how that happened since I hadn't touched any of the references for those aliases, but sure, I guess Creation Kit... new (hopefully final bugfixing) version has been uploaded, let me know of any further issues. Thank you for being so patient with this.
Progress report (!): I now know how to find the Altar without cheating, have made my way in and defeated the first two Precepts. Sadly, Omikame's Key unlocks my desktop every time. It didn't the first time, and I haven't installed anything new modwise since yours, so maybe this is another glitch. Sorry not to have better news.
Mmph, I don't get it. I'm not getting the key crash. Can you try consoling the key into your inventory (console -> help "Omoikane's Key" -> player.additem itemid) and see if it still crashes you?
Sorry, I was unclear. I can get the key fine. It's when I try and use it to unlock the next area that I CTD. I did think of trying to coc in there, but when I tried that before with the first area there were no precepts to fight.
I've just started a new game for various reasons, so when I'm a bit further along I will probably try again, but I'll keep looking out for further updates as well.
I'm unsure what's causing this crash as I am unable to personally replicate it, nor are my testers. Have been searching for any sorts of broken code or the like and haven't found anything yet.
This blade looks delicious and I am totally going to try this out but I must ask is this beautiful Akaviri blade one or two handed? A lot of people upload two handed blades but forget that there is also a one handed as well.
Two handed, the one handed blade would have taken more effort to change however I will consider making a 1h version once all the kinks are worked out of the base mod.

I just have ended the quest but still can't upgrade the blade. I have Daedric and arcane smithing perks (with ordinator).
my mistake

Also the Guardian of Frost and The Void were bugged for me, couldn't attack or be attacked for some reason.
Either way a lot of fun, looking forward to see if the quest is supposed to go on!

I will persevere.

PS: the Akaviri were very fit, weren't they?
