Hi, everyone! I just wanted to give an update on my hiatus. I'm still hoping to return to Skyrim modding eventually, but have stepped away to focus on my mental health & other aspects of my life. I'm sorry I haven't been around to answer your questions about certain issues/bugs you might've experienced while using this mod. However, I've noticed that most questions can be answered with a glance at the F.A.Q. on the description page which includes some helpful links when diagnosing certain bugs like dark face, etc. Please read the F.A.Q. before posting in the comments if you're having such an issue. I've tested this mod pretty extensively & personally checked every single mesh & edit several times so I'd say most issues can be boiled down to a conflict in your load order.
Until then, thank you for all the kind comments & downloads.
P.S. Since a lot of people ask what other NPC overhaul mods I recommend to match my aesthetic, I personally use the NPC Refine series of mods on top of Nordic Faces.
P.P.S. Please don't ask if I can make a modular version where you can pick & choose which NPCs get new looks. It would take literally hundreds of different plugins for all possible combinations & there's tools like EasyNPC which allow you to customize your NPCs. Happy modding!
I have noticed that while using this mod, most followers look fantastic! They look very similar to the example images and are a huge upgrade over vanilla faces or even face overhauls like Faithful Faces which I'm using.
However, in the case of the various Dunmer followers, they look noticeably worse than most other NPCs in this mod and much different from the example images. In particular, their eyes are the traditional solid-red of other Dunmer and their face details (such as paints, freckles) tend to be much darker than the example images, especially when comparing to non-Dunmer. See this image showing Brelyna (very noticeably different), Jenassa, and even Aranea (less different) compared to an assortment of non-Dunmer followers:
I'm using BnP Skin (along with RSV, unsure if relevant) rather than Tempered Skin + Mild Complexions, but as noted and as you can hopefully see, usually this results in the updated NPCs looking extremely similar to the example images.
For the eyes, I can only assume the example images were captured with some eye replacer mod. I do notice some slight, but far less glaring, differences for non-Dunmer eyes. Anyone know what mod it might be? Since it does not seem to be mentioned anywhere on the description page or pinned posts.Just kidding. The description page lists Natural Eyes in the credits section - only problem being, that mod has been DELETED for SSE. Oldrim mod link: Natural Eyes - this does seem to match up with the yellow eyes that most Dunmer use in the example images.
The darker face paint/freckles/etc I'm less sure about? It's extremely noticeable on Brelyna imo. Her freckles are way darker and more blue-colored than the example image. Not sure where exactly those freckle textures come from - are they in this mod? Or using vanilla textures that might be overwritten by other mods?
They also tend to have much darker skin tone relative to other races, but presumably that's just because of differences in BnP skin vs Tempered Skin.
Yeah I tried using tempered skins and true faces by them self in my mod list but the face shapes are like pretty wrong, textures and hair is spot on but the actual face shapes are just wonky?
Whenever I use this mod, most of the followers become bald and all have the same warpaint on their face, has anyone else experienced the same issue, and if so is there a fix
I installed this after nordic faces and I was impressed at first, faendal looks really good, sven looks meh then I have seen the followers in whiterun, they are all massively downgraded compared to nordic faces this is kind of ironic since the creator of nordic faces is the one who recommended this mod to me
It would be a miracle if you made a version of this but just with stats and no appearances changes in the mod page. Tried using EasyNpc to change the replacer and Some NPC's come out bald or just plain don't work. Tried loading it below and everything and the npcs were still bald.
Honestly, same. I do like a good bit of the apperance changes this mod has, but I also have preferred mods for specific characters as well, if that makes sense? But I can't use BOTH the preferred AND this mod.
