About this mod

Removes the requirement of various smithing perks to convert named dragon priest robes into their armored, set-matching counterparts in hopes of making them accessible to all sorts of builds and playthroughs, not exclusively crafter builds.

Konahrik's Accoutrements is an incredible mod that I absolutely adore, but in my opinion it has one unnecessary flaw: it takes smithing perks to convert the robes you acquire from named dragon priests into their armored versions.

the problem I have with this is varied. for starters: it makes it impossible to use a complete set alongside any armor-related perks. most of the heavy and light armor perks require you to equip full sets of their respective type, and the most you can maybe get away with would be no helmet if using Ordinator. in a similar vein, you can't make use of Mage Armor perks if you're wearing any form of light or heavy armor, which means you can't complete a full set either as a mage, only able to use the robes.

Not only that, but to actually convert these items into their armored variant, you require all sorts of smithing perks, which ultimately shoehorns a possibly undesired grind and perk sink into a character. if you are playing a spellsword who uses stealth to avoid damage and bound weapons, for example, why in tarnation would you ever require smithing as a part of your build? why would you invest three, four, five, six perks into it just to be able to equip a full set like Krosis, or Miraak? it's not that having requirements is bad, but the fact these sets benefit all sorts of playstyles (Krosis for instance is excellent for sneaky poisoners, Rahgot meanwhile is excelelnt for melee, Morokei / Vokun are amazing for spellswords / battlemages...) also means that the sort of playstyle that DOES make smithing a key component of their builds... has NO USE for many of the set bonuses provided by these mask+armor combos.

And finally, even GETTING these is difficult. you have to fight some of the most powerful mage encounters the game can throw at you, several of which alongside a small army of high-level minions, on top of their summons. KA retools and uplifts the dragon priests themselves, and on top of that, many other mods like SPID can make them even harder to bring down. Add to this the fact that even IF you beat a dragon priest you will have to get scrolls of abjuration - rare to find, and not any easier to craft) and you need THREE of them per set... to say nothing about any you might spend actually killing the dragon priest... it just ends up making the many sets not worth pursuing because it costs an immense amount of perks, resources, and time, and grinding, just to get things that don't necessarily benefit your build.

With this small ESL-flagged patch, I've removed the requirement for smithing-related perks to convert the named dragon priest robes you acquire after un-cursing them with a scroll into their armored, set-matching counterpart. You can now focus on collecting the sets and hunting down these interesting bosses without having to grind an extra skill or lose the effectiveness of several perks. Tempering these, however, will still require perks such as Arcane Blacksmith since they pack enchants, and the adequate material perk for larger armor rating increases.

the requirements for UNENCHANTED basic armor sets, however, were NOT REMOVED. if you want to create your own, say, all-black ebony scaled dragon priest armor and mask set that you'd then enchant and make your own... you'll have to actually get the perks for THAT, same as any other normal armor. (if it is requested an overwhelming amount of time,  I might add an alternative version with all craftables perk-less from the get-go, not just the named bits.)

I hope this mod helps you in your adventures. Let me know if there's any issues. I have little modding experience, and this was done with the help of some folks at Icecreamassassin's discord.
