It says that textures are compatible with cathedral water but what about the esp? Cathedral waters comes with its own esp is that compatible as well or should I delete it? And if it is, should I load it before or after this mod?
Yeah I read the description but that doesn't answer my question. Does that mean that if I use the optional .esp included in this mod that I no longer need the .esp from cathedral waters? Would that mean that I could just take cathedral's textures, overwrite this mod's textures with them and then delete cathedral's .esp?
No offense, but are you intentionally trying to give the most vague as possible answer..? I just want to know whether I, if I use your .esp, should still use anything from Cathedral? Say I use your .esp, does that mean that I should no longer use Cathedral at all, or can I still use its textures?
Yeah, the wording is confusing. AND the Fomod just says you don't need Cathedral active with this mods tweaks but is vague if it's talking about the Mod or just the esp.
IMO the water definitely looks better without the flow maps however it appears the flow maps version almost completely eliminates the LOD seams because the flow matches the LOD better. Without flow maps it still matches pretty good especially at eye level but its a little off when looking from above. Is that the correct functionality?
Could you kindly patch this wonderful mod to work with Keep it clean?
These are the mod author's notes
Water mods Like other needs mods, outdoor water requires the "causes damage" flag enabled. Use the patches noted below to work with water mods. (KiC is compatible with iNeed). All mods which support iNeed's waterskin refill/drinking from water feature make this mod compatible as well, same for RnD. You only need one fix! For a 'global' solution for your modlist, you might want to try: iNeed Universal Water Patch OR zedit Water Damage patcher available here Or download patches for these mods on the Files page: Realistic Water Two? - for version 3.10, use the patch provided here in Optional Files (overwrite/replace the patch included in the main download). Cathedral Water Overhaul - patch provided by ArranzCNL Beyond Skyrim - Bruma SE Falskaar Inn mods For maximum compatibility, the added baths have a minimum footprint - usually just putting a trapdoor in the inns. Mods that greatly change the inn interiors will conflict without a patch. Compatible with Distinct Interiors - use the provided patch. Compatible with Friendlier Taverns (no Bath version) - load KiC after. Other support Support for Hunterborn's animal fat ingredient, use the provided patch. (Try Hunterborn SE MCM) The great Inigo and Vilja are natively supported. Sofia too, but her 'relax' feature can lead to error with KiC's detection system, use the built-in feature add her to the support list. There are a few items added to merchants chests and merchant level lists – so if you have other mods that add to these, you’ll want to make a bashed patch with Wrye Bash or a Smashed patch with Mator Smash.
Thank you, I am still pretty new to this. I dont know if keep it clean author will respond as they do not seem to anymore but hopefully they will look into this. or at least turn of the water requirement to us the soap so you can just use the item. We will see, thank you for your help though, it is very much appreciated.
I went down a rabbit hole in the forum posts for multiple mod pages to try and find a solution to this, and I still have not found one. Hopefully this post can at least lay out the problem a bit better.
Firstly, I only know the bare basics of xEdit and I’ve not really used it years ago when I started modding. I'm going to find it really annoying if I have to finally learn xEdit just to make bathing mods work with water. lol.
Info: Skyrim Version: Skyrim AE 1.6.1170 For Water: Simplicity of Sea overwriting “Cathedral - Water Overhaul and Bug Fixes”For Bathing: Keep it clean which adds the bathing, and the baths in the vanilla inns. Also: “Simple Inn Baths” which warps you to a new interior cell after paying the innkeeper to get a bath. (This is to add compatibility since it doesn’t alter locations, and can work in non-vanilla inns). I am NOT using a needs mod. Yes, I know AE Comes with Survival mode, but I haven’t turned it on.
I know the exact problem: According to various forum posts, the issue is caused by water mods altering the DefaultWater record somehow to remove the "Causes Damage" flag. Relevant Threads: Tracked down a thread on Simple Inn Baths (SIB) pageregarding compatibility with Keep it Clean (KiC). Comment by MobGoblin9000 on June 28, 2021 on Simple InnBaths page – Page 5 of the Posts Section.
The Suggestion from ArchChip was to use powerofthree’sPapyrus Extender function: IsInWater(ActorakTarget)
--- This is an issue itself, because I already have Papyrus Extender, and the only version which will work with the latest Version of AE (Skyrim AE 1.6.1170) does NOT yet have a FOMOD.
So, I cannot make any adjustments in the PapyrusExtender FOMOD to add or tweak a patch, because there IS NOT A FOMOD. (If I'm missing something here, let me know.)
Decided to have a look at Simplicty of Sea's post section just to cover my bases, which is where I found this post. Reading it in 2024 is like reading a comedy sketch. I hope anyone reading understands that while I'm annoyed, I am also trying to find the humor in this.
wSkeever: Me Reading this post: Soo according to this three year old post I am supposed to wait on another mod author to use a fix? And the suggested fix is PapyrusExtender, which is already a NO-GO for the above mentioned reason? Uuuh…soo whats another solution?
Atardecer: wSkeever: andlater Me Reading this post: Well, I clearly can’t do the po3extender, BUT wSkeever is saying that the Synthesis will set the water to lava and remove splashes….Oh great…just *Bleeping* Great. So now what?
RuneWolfWitch: wSkeever: Me Reading this post: Ok well now we’re getting somewhere! *Searches for iNeed Universal Water Patch*
*Audible sounds of forehead going through a wall* You have GOT to be kidding me! #@$^*%. I guess I’m getting the Water Does Damage Synthesis Patch. A little Lava Water Never hurt anyone. At least I will finally be able to take a bath and wash it off.
P.S: Yes I know the Simplicity of Sea modpage was changed to suggest Sunhelm instead of ineed universal water fix. But this is already absurd enough without having to install an entirely new needs mod just to make a completely different bathing mod let you *checks notes* Bathe….IN….WATER.
I hope anyone reads this finds the humor in this post. I'm just frustrated at going all over the nexus through multiple forums trying to find a fix for this that doesn't involve having to go and learn xEdit and praying I don't screw it up.
Also I know that the Keep It Clean modpage has a stickied post linking directly to the "Water does Damage" Synthesis patcher as a solution. I just wanted to follow up on what wSkeever said about that solution causing further problems.
I tried that Water Does Damage - Synthesis Patcher for about 5 seconds before I realized its a manual file and that I know absolutely nothing about Synthesis. ugh.
I guess I may have to learn xEdit then, or learn how Synthesis works *sigh*, or wait for Papyrus Extender to update with a FOMOD for the latest versions of Anniversary Edition.
Its probably a stupidly simple fix in xEdit, because that's what everyone uses since forever ago. But I'm always wary of going that granular, because who knows what I might accidentally break, particularly when people have been complaining about the exact same issue for years but I'm not seeing any standalone patches, or clear resolutions in 3+ different mod forums.
Welcome to modding in 2024 I guess. Its like wishing on a Monkey's paw. We have a ton of brand new awesome stuff...but you have to learn 4 new programs to use it, and half of it broke back in February.
That being said. I do really love the look of Simplicity of Seas, it just blends into the environment so well. But it sounds like I will have to find a fix or drop the Bathing mods.
Hello, the green cave cubemap still exists for me with this mod after exiting some caves. Can you help? Nothing overwrites your plugin, I've checked it in SSEEdit.
I read through all your description, and all the comment in the POSTS section but I still dont find the answer, so I am here to ask for your help: I am trying to combine your mod and Cathedral water, so am I correct that if I use your esp, I just need the TEXTURE from Cathedral, let it overwrite your texture, but DISABLE Cathedral esp.
Correct?
Thanks for your help and I really appreciate your conflict free way to edit water.
Has anyone tried combining this with the waterfalls-only file of Water for ENB? Which waterfall color option would match up with wSkeever's custom water color - maybe Mineral Teal? I really like the look and compatibility of this mod, but sadly it doesn't do anything for the ugly-ass vanilla waterfalls
So if any of your ESP options is installed, Cathedral Waters doesn't actually do anything, right? SoS overrides both water textures and you said in a previous comment that your ESP overrides all Cathedral water records
