the big consumer of VRAM resources remains above all: All mods that modify NPCs especially those which improve faces and / or bodies in High-Poly;)
or those who modify the armor and / or weapons of the NPC in high quality 4k ++ especially those from non-BSA files (loose files)
Then, the big consumers of FPS are the Mods which: - add NPCs (patrols, civil war) in the open world there are already a lot of base NPCs in the game Vanilla the more we add, the more scripts it generates related to the activity of its NPCs.
Mods that add dungeons have no impact on your FPS
Also consider: - Widget and / or HUD mods that call the game engine every 5 seconds -> CPU
The typical big management mods for example: - improved riding - follower Framework manager - animation manager according to the activity (sandbox, etc.) - interface manager (iequip for example) , widget, Hud - survival mod manager
Because these kind of management mods work almost exclusively from multiple scripts that constantly monitor your activity over the shoulder of the Vanilla game engine. For these mods choose very light versions, there are some on the Nexus and your game will be even better.
And the most formidable of all being the Mods that add Birds and / or Wildlife, which can run hundreds of scripts, and when I say hundreds I'm optimistic.
And finally don't go over 60 FPS as it will break the SKYRIM game engine which can't go faster than that.
Not accusing you of trying to brick my computer but could you provide regular instructions for the pc optimizations instead of the auto files? I'd like to be sure of what I'm changing and how to reverse it if I don't like it.
Doesn't allow some of the tweaks, disable this and restart the PC before running all the tweaks.
1. Choose adjust for best performance
Isn't an automated file, Its a shortcut to a setting in windows, Obviously if you want performance you would choose adjust for best performance, it says what is being enabled in disabled anyway.
2. Latency BCD tweaks
Disables the following
Dynamic Tick High Precision Event Timer (HPET) Synthetic Timers
Basically a bunch of useless stuff that in some cases cause some latency and stutters.
Memory compression sometimes causes FPS drops and crazy stutters. Its mostly useless, but some programs use this, so if you have any that do, the file will error when you try to run it, so that's all taken care of.
It may be good for laptops with low ram though, so be wary of disabling it when running a potato. If you run an alright PC, I recommend to use the disable memory compression file.
Now this is where stuff get really useful, credit to Adamx for making these.
5. info onWindows tweaks (Stop the video at 9:30, the extra stuff mentioned is not included in the file for some reason)
I removed the disable Ease of access and disable transparency from the file, some people use this.
It doesn't really help with performance per se, but it does help polishing any slop bethesda left. And anything that optimizes the game, seems like a win in my book.
Also DONT USE CULLING DATA GLITCH, removed it from the guide, check the description on why.
Low res particles do help a ton, im gonna pin this comment so people can see.
But it can sometimes conflict with weather mods and particle mods, so I didn't add it to the guide, But if anyone wants to try it out. Feel free to.
Just dropping in here to ask - I've seen that some of the tweeks are disabling some overlays. I've been borrowing steam copy to play the game, and I've gone through steps one and two. At that point I've tried to enter the game through mod organizer, but all I get is a steam error "an error occurred while launching this game: no licences". Would any of the disabled overlays have an effect on borrowing games through steam?
Came across this in a Reddit post... just noticing the lack of posts/updates recently and wondering if this is still applicable today (I'm still on v1.5.97).
Hi, I know that you already said about NPCs, but I have to ask (I'm pretty dumb and new) multiple follower mods affect the performance? even if they are in a place (not moving from one place to another).
I am very interested in your guide. Thank you for going to this effort. I actually found this while working through issues I had with some of the stuff from Free FPS. How do the optimizations fair with Windows 11 or are they even still needed?
EDIT: Also, .Net Script Framework does not work with Anniversary Edition. Any suggestions or can it be bypassed? I have the purchased version.
I read in the comment section of the optimised skyrim se texture and found out that the mod frequently causes CTD. Besides, don't CSSET already did a good job in optimising the textures?
Not entirely sure but it was recommended by Adamx in his video and he's a well known tweaker amongst the comp gaming community (Fortnite, valo, cod, etc..)
Thats entirely optional though you can just not enable it.
If we use DynDOLOD we don't need Culling data glitch fix, right? Also your enb tweaks quite a few of them I'm not actually in my personal ENB (Azurean ENB). Should I not add those options?

6. info on Reg tweaks
7. High performance power plan.
Its self explanatory.
8. GPU tweaks
Doesn't "break" anything In the pc, its just adjusting the GPU settings in your GPU's software.
9. Cleanup files
Just files that remove useless garbage, this doesn't hurt your pc in any way.
10. Enable UAC
Because we disable it before the guide started so some tweaks can work, we enable it again after applying the tweaks.
Nothing here can really hurt your pc, besides maybe the Reg tweaks file, but that's very unlikely.
If some tweaks explained in the Windows or Reg tweaks video, you don't really want, you can open the file in Notepad ++ and Simply delete that part.
Enjoy!
here,s is one i always add to one of my older systems , it just downgrades some particle effects , it helps

I believe this is the SSE version : https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/2388

Check the sticky explaining all the tweaks done
If the enb tweaks aren't found in your enb, then its fine, you don't have to add those options, just edit the ones you have.
