dont work i get the "hack" button but no effect. im thinking about an incompatibility with the "sneak tools" mod, cause it adds the same button for humanoids, is someone has experienced this ?
idea is sweet btw and i endorse the "ancient knowledge" addition, for immersion reasons and balance
Same here, only I don't use sneak tools. Though it seems that pressing A will guarantee a filled soul gem on the wreck after I smash the infernal thing.
do you have to stay undetected? and maybe asking too much but, is there a way to connect this to the ancient knowledge from avan-chanzel? (or however you spell that)
You can hack in the same circumstances in which you can pickpocket, so the target must not be in combat. If you have Master of the Mind then you could cast Calm on them and then hack.
connected as in only becoming available after returning the lexicon and learning about how these constructs work not really necessary, i can just wait until i have completed avan-chanzel before i install maybe making it easier once you learn to craft with dwemer metal? like i said probably too much to ask cool to know its connected to pickpocket seems balanced then, thanks although i remember rolling from briarheart to briarheart never getting fully detected with an old sneak character XP if you fail the lockpick do you get pulled out of lockpicking similar to how that happens when a guard spots you inside a town? or do you get infinite attempts like lockpicking a chest in the middle of a bandit camp with the bandit boss looking at you?
Works just like lockpicking anything else, so if you fail and you are detected then you'll get kicked out, but if you are undetected then you get infinite tries.
I wasn't worried too much about balance because if you can sneak up on a construct you can just sneak attack and kill'em anyway, so this is just another way of accomplishing the same goal using a different skill.
pretty sure i have picked locks mid combat, only town guards interrupting if you break a pick will have to test in SE either way cool mod, will remember this for my proper mod list once SKSE is released currently skyrim is still a bit too barren for me to bother, but you will get my endorsement eventually
You can pick locks mid combat. You only get booted out of the lockpicking UI if picking the lock is a crime and you were detected by an owner or someone in a shared crime faction when you activated the locked object. The control box is considered owned by the construct in question.
