Have you find your fire glowing way too bright after a few graphics mod?  Luminosity + Relighting Skyrim maybe?  This mod replaces the glowing effects with a dimmer version.  Best part is it doesn't make the room any darker, it only affects the center glow.

Affects fireplace, torch, candles, magelight, and candlelight, with a choice of 50%, 30%, and 0%.

Since this simply replaces a graphic, it is safe to install/uninstall at any time.
