I've tried for hours to figure out how to use hkanno, but I have no idea how to use it. Can't figure out how to generate the annotations and I can't understand the readme or the mod page description for it. Anyone know if there's a guide or something I can use to figure out how to work hkanno?
Edit: After hours of digging through the oldrim thread of hkanno and realizing I wasted hours trying to wrap my head around the useless "readme" in the special edition version of hkanno, I've figured out how to do it myself for anyone interested.
Part A: Convert animations from SE to Oldrim 1. Go to this link https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/104459 and follow the instructions CAREFULLY. Make sure you go to the comments and download the havok tool or else it won't work. (You also need this for Part B too, so don't miss this) 2. Take the animations you want to apply Skypia's tweak to and place them all in the HKX batch converter folder. (If you're using Mod Organizer 2, right click the mod and click "open in explorer" to find the .hkx files 3. Run the "converttoskyrim.bat" file. 4. (Optional) Copy/cut and paste these files to a separate folder titled "broken anims". I'd also recommend you make a separate subfolder within with the name of the moveset you want to tweak.
Part B: Editing the Annotations 1. Go to this link https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/89435?tab=files and manually download the file "hkanno with tutorial". 2. Extract the "hkanno-001-tutorial" folder somewhere on your computer 3. Drag any ONE of the animations (hkx file) you want to tweak into the hkanno tutorial folder 4. Drag and drop the hkx file (your file, not the one in the folder) to the "dump.bat" file 5. Hkanno should generate a file called "anno.txt". Open the file and copy/cut the text within it. (If the text file is empty, it means you either didn't install the havok 2010 tool properly or your animation wasn't properly converted to LE) 6. Paste the text you just copied into "anno_AttackRight.txt". 7. From here, follow Skypia's instructions on how to tweak the annotations. If the file name has "power" in it, you should follow his instructions for power attacks. Otherwise, follow the instructions for normal attacks. 8. After you finish, save the changes you made to the text file and save it. 9. Drag the skysahkx file into the "Update_AttackRight.bat" file. 10. (Optional, but highly recommended) Drag the skysahkx file into the dump.bat again. If the changes you made in "anno_AttackRight.txt" are the same as this newly generated annotation, it means you've successfully edited the annotation. Also highly recommended is to make a separate folder labelled "fixed anims" with separate subfolders for all of the movesets you've tweaked 11. Repeat steps 3-10 for all animations within the moveset.
Part C: Convert animations back from Oldrim to SE 1. In MO2, right click the skysa moveset and click "open in explorer" 2. Copy and paste the edited hkx files from Part B where the original hkx files are. Overwrite all files (Make sure you have a backup just in case). Afterwards, copy the file path of the mod (e.g. C:\Users/Local\ModOrganizer\Skyrim Special Edition\mods\(SKYSA) Moveset) 3. Manually download "Cathedral Assets Optimizer" (CAO): https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/23316 and extract its contents to any folder 4. Run "Cathedral_Assets_Optimizer.exe" 5. Uncheck all of the options in the "BSA", "Meshes", and "Textures" tab. 6. Under the "Animations" tab, make sure you check "Necessary Optimization" 7. Paste the file path you copied in step 2 into CAO 8. Click the "Run" button 9. Check the "log" tab. CAO should tell you you've successfully converted all of the animations. If so, you're done!
try using adxp from distar it works great on controller just hit download and I use tudm with spid patch for a dodge mod and tdm aswell works great run nemesis if using all these of course
You are a fucking champion, I tried to fix this for so long. Also, does anyone know how to change direction mid-animations, or are all AMR+DAR+SkySA animations committed to one direction? I saw a Farron GS mod an the guy was skating/changing direction the whole 4-hit but mine doesn't, SkySA moveset.
Hi, just out of curiously did you give permission for for this mod to be uploaded to xbox? In case you didn't and you are unaware someone has https://bethesda.net/en/mods/skyrim/mod-detail/4264926

It is difficult to answer the question.

Because with JH animations the combo gets stuck in a loop
Thanks for your work I'll see if I can do it myself
