Same problem here. I noticed it on Frost and the Whiterun stable horses but not on the carriage horse. Figured it was either my creature retextures or convenient horses but removing them didn't help.
Not really a fix but I deleted the horse meshes from the mod. I love what it does to the other creatures but I'm happier with the vanilla horse look than the mismatched colors.

For those wondering this can work mostly independently of the esp if you want to only use parts. I was able to get fluffy mammoths with just the mammoth textures and meshes from this mod. HalkHogan's HD Reworked Mammoths is providing the
base textures for max compatibility. It looks and works exactly like it should. The esp is only needed for certain animal color variants like the white skeever, so most of the base animals aren't affected by it. You just need shell textures and shell-enabled meshes. This is very useful as Fluffworks doesn't cover everything.

Is this incompatible with Seasonal Wildlife Distribution? I'm especially thinking of the  part where certain animals change fur during certain seasons. If so, would it be possible for someone to make a patch? I'd do it myself if I knew how to work xedit.

Edit: I've been told there should be no conflict as SWD edits distribution lists and not the animals themselves.

Would love a FOMOD installer. I have a bunch of other animal mods already, and I like the way they are. There are a couple animals of yours here I'd love to have a shell for but unfortunately it seems like I'd have to download the whole thing.

Going into File Conflicts don't display everything for me to overwrite with but I also don't want to simplify or diminish the hard work this takes because I am appreciative. I'm primarily interested in the foxes though, over everything else. The poor foxes in this game look so sad :(

I installed with mod orginizer 2 with vanilla skyrim  but nothing happens. Is there any other requirements for this mod?

    Hi there,
does anyone knows how to apply the Fox shell texture ?
There's a fox folder in textures, but no fox folder in meshes.
Everything is working fine for me except foxes (still see another retexture, no shell effect)

Edit : Ignore it, it's my bad...
I combined this mod with Fluffworks and deleted the FusaFusa "wolf" folder in meshes (thought it was for wolves not foxes ^^ )

    Sorry for the inconvenience.

From what I just read on another page, foxes and wolves use the same skeleton, the wolf one. There isn't as separate one for foxes. That's why adding the wolf one back in fixed your problem.
