hey, loving this mod so far and the appearance change works correctly, my only issue is to get him to follow me. so far ive tried everything, disabling possible mod conflicts (ie; interesting npcs), trying both RDO and VVE (none seem to work), moving the mod to the bottom of my load order (only RDO/ VVE were below it) but none seem to work. ive already done his misc. quest and raised his relationship status fyi, and havent met him beforehand. any possible solution/ workaround to this?
Hmm. It feels like a conflict. Have you tried SSEEdit to search for conflicts: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/164? Also, I'm not sure what VVE is, so I'm not sure how if it has any conflicts with my mod. Another option is to try to reset his relationship status via the console.
Did you by chance ask him to create a distraction during Diplomatic Immunity? Because that will make him hate you, and he won't follow anymore.
Thanks! I did give him the option, but the problem is that his voicetype (MaleElfHaughty) doesn't have marriage dialogue options. However, if a mod like RDO or something else ever creates marriage dialogue for his voicetype like they did with follower dialogue, you should be able to marry him. :)

I got so excited when I found this mod but in game I have the option to ask him to follow me, but when I do he answers with "Nah, I don't think so." I've tried setting the relationship rank to 3 and 4 but he still answers like that. Our levels are also the same. I've done his quest and haven't yet done the party quest where you can ask him to cause a distraction so I don't know why it's not working :(
Hmm. That is really strange. As long as he likes you, he should follow you without issue. Does he give you the "few pleasures in life as fine as your company" line and the like? That's a good indicator of his feelings. Also, do you have any other mods that alter Ondolemar in any way? Where is my mod in your load order? You might try moving it to the bottom to see if it changes anything. Let me know, and I'll try to help.
I've heard him say that line before, but after I downloaded the mod I can't seem to get him to say it again. I don't have any other mods that change him. The mod has two mods below it and I tried to move it to the bottom but it didn't seem to change anything. I did do his quest before I downloaded this mod so I'll try to load a previous save and do it again with the mod this time.
It sounds like something weird may have gotten baked into your save that broke him. Maybe a small conflict or something. Have you looked at it in SSEEdit? I think loading a previous save and redoing his quest is a good idea. Let me know it that works.
Sadly it didn't work. I haven't looked at it in SSEEdit and I don't really know what I'm supposed to do with SSEEdit. I really appreciate the help though!
With SSEEdit, once it has all of your mods loaded, click on my mod and look for any conflicts with any other mods. It should show if there's a problem/conflict. Past that, I'm not sure what else the problem could be. It really sounds like some sort of conflict, as he usually works right out of the gate without issue. Let me know if you see any conflicts in SSE Edit. You could also post your LO here (with spoiler tags), and I'll tell you if anything jumps out as me as a conflict.
I wasn't planning on it, as I currently don't even have Skyrim or the CK on my computer anymore. I believe there's an LE version of an Ondolemar mod by Jokerine where you can recruit him with the vanilla appearance. If you know how to use the CK, you can convert it yourself or ask the author if she'd be willing to convert it. If not, you can always use console commands to add him to the two follower factions.
Hello, I love your mod, it really spices this boi up. However, I can't get him to become a follower. I did his quest, and installed RDO, but the option just won't pop up. Is there something else I need to do?
No. That's all you should have to do. Did you make him angry in some way (make him cause a distraction at the embassy, etc.)? Had you already met him when you installed the mod? Do you have any mods that conflict with Ondolemar in any way?
No, i started a new run with a high elf and havent touched the MQ, and only after installing the mod did I talking with Ondo. Your mod is the only one I believe messes with him, that I have.
Hmm. That's really strange. He should work as soon as you add him. Have you tried moving him to the bottom of your LO to see if it makes a difference? It's possible there's a small conflict we aren't seeing. Also, did you download the appearance only version of him by mistake? I'm trying to rule out all potential issues.
I'm really sorry for the late reply! I downloaded the extra perk file, and put the mod as low as I could. Everything but the option to recruit works. Should I load RDO after this mod?
Yes, definitely put RDO below Ondolemar since it's RDO's dialogue that makes him able to be a follower. In vanilla, his voice type doesn't have follower dialogue at all, so without RDO, he can't be a follower. Hopefully putting RDO below it will work. Please let me know if it does or doesn't.
I was just lamenting that somehow in the port of RDO to SSE, that Lorion, the haughty elf follower, disappeared. At least I have not been able to find him. I stumbled luckily somehow on this - and am thrilled - I miss having a haughty Thalmor in the team (for some reason). Downloading and looking very forward to meeting Ondolemar with this new playthrough. :)
For some reason in my game I have no option to recruit Ondolemar as a follower i.e. the "Follow me I need your help." dialogue isn't showing up? He did die after the diplomatic immunity quest because of the hostile Thalmor in Markarth. Maybe that has something to do with it? I spawned back into the game using console commands. (I tried changing the load order more than once not sure why he is a broken brain boi. lol)

Did you already do the quest to retrieve Ogmund's Amulet of Talos? That's another requirement, as it raises his disposition toward you. You may want to try raising his disposition rank to you to either a three (ally) or a four (lover). That may help. It all comes down to if he doesn't like you, he won't follow you.
I fixed it! Him dying with the mod "Honor your dead" I think did break him haha. I just started a new save and everything is fine now :P. Thank you for the help!
