Thanks. That requirement is listed in the mod description twice. Apachii Hair is listed under the "Required Mods" section, and there is also a note at the top of the mod page that tells users about the Apachii Hair requirement. So it's there. People just need to read the description.
I am also getting this bug. I have AFT installed but if I put Aela esp above AFt esp AFT will overwrite it, wouldn't it? I want Alea esp to overwrite AFT don't i?
I don't use AFT, so I can't say for sure. Try her .esp above and below AFT and see which works better. Do you have any other mods that modify Aela in any way?
Fixed based on load order, but I had the same issue with dark face. Also have AFT installed as the last esp after various companion mods. I figure I had a conflict in subsequent mods, but those are all weapon and armor related. I moved AFT to the very end of the load order and put Aela next to last - works fine now.
First, make sure you have the correct Apachii hair pack installed. Depending on which version you chose, Aela will either require the male/female pack or the female only pack (see description). This is a required master file. This is the reason for 99 percent of the problems with dark face.
If you have the correct hair pack, do you have any other mods that alter Aela in any way? If so, make sure my Aela is loaded below them in your load order.
If you do this, you should have no dark face bug, as this mod works perfectly as long as these instructions are followed.

Apachii Hair is a required mod (see description), so if you don't have it, the mod will crash or you will get the dark face bug because you are missing a required master file. Download the appropriate Apachii Hair pack for the version you downloaded (listed in the description), and it will work fine.
