does this mod have a MCM menu to select the the weapon that makes the camera zoom/pan out to 3rd person? I use another mod that causes the camera to zoom in when using my bow and interferes with this mod. if I could disable this mod to only work for blades or hand weapons I would like this mod better.
Unfortunately it doesn't. I could look in to it, but AutoPV does this very well and I don't see a reason to reinvent the wheel since this was really meant to be a simple mod for people who want something light on the script engine.
I used the source code you provided to make an edit so it doesn't activate while sneaking (as I prefer my sneak kills in first person), so thanks for providing it. :)
There is a download in the files section for the source already. If you make something cool with it, post a comment or something in here. I'd like to see it.
When I equip and aim my bow, I think this mod puts me in 3rd person even though I almost always play in 1st person. Can I aim my bow in first person, or do I have to uninstall the mod?
Unfortunately it forces in to third person regardless. In order to keep this as light as possible I don't plan to change this... but as someone suggested AutoPV allows total customization of camera switching. I highly recommend this in place of this mod if you want any other behaviors.
I haven't tested it yet, but it's worth mentioning that Sometimes Pick Up Books's users might have a weird interaction where they unsheathe their weapon to pick up a book and end up in 3rd person camera. There's another similarly named mod that relies on a modifier key instead of the unsheathing, it's Sometimes Pick Up Books - An inventory-free way to use items.
There is also AutoPV which works pretty much exactly the same as this mod + it can be configured to change perspective depending on what weapon you are sheathing or what action you are performing (like sprinting or sneaking).
It's not easy at all to find them all, if it wasn't for electrohead1 I would have never noticed autopv for example. It's good to have choices, especially with mods being hidden/removed so frequently.
You say it is compatible with everything and then only list combat mods. What about Smooth Cam? Can I place this after Smooth Cam and they will work together?
This is exactly what i was loooking for! Thank you c: I feel the same about combat mods, i've always wanted to use Distar and ADRI's mods, but saddly most of them only work in 3rd person.
