Compatibility with other mods: There are no known conflicts with other mods at this time. However, click the spoiler for a warning and more information.
    Spoiler:
    Show
We are not aware of any issues with other mods, but let me know if you have any issues. Either on the comments page or by private message, your choice. But here are a few things to consider:

    1) Mavis and Eloise both have AI packages that let them move around and do things when they are not with you. Both inside and outside, on a schedule you will find in their detailed descriptions. While we are not aware of any conflicts, any mods that drastically change Whiterun for Mavis, or Fort Dawnguard for Eloise, could affect things. We have users with various combinations of mods with no reported problems with their scheduled activities, including the Palaces and Castles Enhanced version of Fort Dawnguard.

    2) We did have a report of a potential situation at Fort Dawnguard by one user on SE, after the quest "Bloodline" was done, at the very start of the next quest "A New Order" - when the player returns to Fort Dawnguard to speak to Isran. If you have Eloise with you during Bloodline, so she is with you as a follower when you return to Fort Dawnguard, there should NOT be any problems. Even with the incredible cooperation with the user, who provided me with information on his game and mods, I could not reproduce the issue after many tests, both in my LE and SE games, not even after adding some of the mods that the reporting user had installed that seemed like they might affect things at the Fort.

So, to be extra safe, I would recommend making a full Save before traveling back to Fort Dawnguard to talk to Isran, after you get "A New Order". Then return to Fort Dawnguard, and see what happens. If everything plays out fine from a Dawnguard perspective, and Eloise... behaves herself, you will be fine. More details, with a spoiler if you never played Dawnguard, under the spoiler button.

    Spoiler:
    Show
Here is what happens (Spoiler!) When you return to speak to Isran as the first step in "A New Order", having chosen the Dawnguard side (or you wouldn't have this quest), Fort Dawnguard will be under a vampire attack. Isran and a few others will be fighting the vampires. And if Eloise is outside at the time, she can join in and attack the vampires too. Well... usually. But for one user, Eloise was attacking the Dawnguard, not the vampires! And... she appeared to have killed one or two of the Dawnguard!

By design, Eloise does not have faction alliances to either vampires or the Dawnguard, to give players the maximum flexibility in their games. But she should not be attacking the Dawnguard in this vampire attack. What we assume happened, is that one of the Dawnguard defenders accidentally hit Eloise during the attack, or maybe Eloise accidentally hit one of them... making them enemies. The reporting user had the problem two times, and then he used the console to do a MoveTo command to move Eloise to his location before returning to the Fort, recruited Eloise, and only then did he return to the Fort to talk to Isran, and everything worked fine. (Please don't attempt to use the console to do this unless you KNOW what you are doing!)

The other consideration to this issue, is that it could be a matter of timing. If you have this problem, what I would suggest, rather then messing around with the console, is to note the time of the attack at the Fort. Then return to your save before you traveled back, and wait enough hours... so that when you arrive back at the Fort it is in the middle of the night. Hopefully, either Eloise will be sleeping, and will stay out of the fight, or the timing of things will change so that she attacks the vampires, not the Dawnguard.

Finally, if you DO have this happen to you, please let me know. Eloise has been around for a few years now, and this is the first report we have had of this happening.

Anybody know the name of the mods these two spells come from.
-The starting half of one of the spells is either "Blitz of" or "Bolts of" and is orange lightning
-The second spell I think uses the fear illusion fx, but fires a red lightning bolt

Sorry that I never replied to this... even though I do not know the answer to your questions, exactly. What I do know, and you probably do too, is that this mod adds 2 spells that have orange lightning. Eloise uses Dawnbringer Auriel Lightning Bolt and Dawnbringer Auriel Thunderbolt spells, and she has spell tomes for both of them in her inventory, so the player can learn and use the spells as well.

Again, sorry that I missed this message. IF I got a notification for it, I might have thought it was for our conversation below the same day.

But that's no excuse, so again - sorry about that!

PS. Since notifications are not working again the last few days now in September 2023 (which is why I am checking my mods and noticed your message), I will try to check back in case you reply later - but you certainly don't need to.

I need some help, I downloaded the file off of the site one time and then decided to redo my mods a bit, but when I went to download the file off the site a second time, it refused to download for some reason.

Sorry for the issue you are having. I did make a slight change to the download process yesterday so that everything was using HTTPS, and I missed something. Although it worked for me when I tested it. It might be browser related but I made another change a few minutes ago to correct what I missed. If you still have the download page on my site open, please reload it first. Then try the download again - just once. If it works, great! If it doesn't, let me know and I will research more.

I have only made the change for this merged version of Mavis and Eloise SE so far, and will fix the rest of our mods after I get some breakfast. Done.

Great news, and again sorry for the fact it didn't work earlier today. Let me know if you have any questions or issues with the mod. And just in case you did not notice this, Eloise will have spell tomes for the Auriel Lightning spells in her inventory. So you can get them from her and learn the spells so you can use them as a player. I am biased, of course, but the Auriel Lightning is one of my favorite spells to use.

Hi - look great, don't mind the two part download.
My issue is that Eloise has sided with the vampires when they first attack Fort Dawnguard. Came up the hill to find Isran and Celan fighting three vampires AND Eloise - who pretty quickly killed Celan and put Isran into bleedout position. She remains approachable to me however, despite me ko'ing her.
Going to try again with a recent save.

Hi - and thank you! Eloise is not actually part of the Dawnguard, just a follower that lives there who is obviously equipped for vampire hunting. She was created that way so she wouldn't interfere with vampire players or followers. So I guess one question I would ask, is do you have any extra mods installed that might affect how vampires or Dawguard factions work. Also... in my LE game... I have had a few strange things happen over the years:

      Spoiler:
      Show
I use a lot of followers in my game (having over 350 to choose from), and often have 2 or 3 with me. In my game, they not only have the normal situation of being allies in the follower faction, they also are allies (in my personal  game only) through my cmhGirls faction. Just the other night, even with that added level of being allies, after a fight against real enemies, 2 of my followers turned on the 3rd. This did NOT involve Mavis or Eloise, and this was not running the new merged mods. It was very odd to me, but I thought what happened was that the 3rd follower and I accidently hit each other, causing the other 2 to react?? I use AFT on LE, and it has ignore friendly fire set (at least I think that is from AFT). I ended up using the console to disable and enable each of the girls, and everybody was friends again. But since this was in my full playthrough, and I really didn't like doing that, I think I reloaded my previous save just to be safe.

Now, your situation sounds different, since it sounds like you weren't involved in the fight at first. But I guess I would wonder if one of the Dawnguard accidentally struck Eloise during a vampire attack, and she was not really siding with the vampires, but just defending herself against her perceived attackers that happened to be Dawnguard?

      Spoiler:
      Show
If you can, please let me know about the other mods that might be involved, and also what level your player is at, and if this was your first time approaching Fort Dawnguard in your playthrough. Edit: or maybe clarify for me after reading your comment again... was this the part of the quest line where the vampires launch their attack on Fort Dawnguard? I haven't done that full questline in a long time, and haven't started it yet in my full playthrough.

All very odd. Was after midnight here when that happened, hence the delay to re-try.
Reloaded in a remote location, fast travelled to FD - I am doing the Dawnguard quests, non-vampire, returning to FD to tell Isran about Serana and the vampires - ie first quest hand in. At that point three vampires are walking up the hill to FD, normally they get killed by the FD crew, or if you catch them, you can kill them.
Current level 19, have one follower in tow (Arissa)
1st event - I killed two before they reached Isran etc, one started attacking Isran (who I promptly killed) and I noticed a red headed NPC hitting Isran as well - not realising who it was I ko'd her as well, then realised it was Eloise. Healed her - and she went berserk attacking Celann, killed him them reduced Isran (essential) to bleedout.
2nd try - fast travelled in again and sprinted around the corner to catch all three vampires before they reached the FD crew. I was using a weapon with a Dawnbreaker enchantment on it and it processed, killing all three vampires in one hit. Then I saw that Isran was already in bleedout, one dead FD member (Durac) and one being attacked by Eloise right at the door of Fort Dawnguard - that being Celann who she also killed.
I initially thought it might have been that one of them hit her and she aggro'ed them for that - but this second time I killed them all before the fight even really started, and it looks like she had been attacking them from the second I zoned in to have Isran down and Durac dead already.

I have no vampire modifying mods. I only have Northbourne NPC's of the Rift, Immersive Fort Dawnguard and Unplayable Faction Armours affecting these NPCs - these are patched. None of these should affect factions as far as I recall.

Going to summon her to me, take her on as a follower and then fast travel there next - I would assume that when taken on as a follower her ai will change.

Ps amused by the 350 followers - I think I may have you beaten there - my spreadsheet shows 376 and I realised I haven't added the ones from the Gemstone series parts 1,2 and 3 yet lol.

This is very strange. I just double checked, and Eloise just has the standard 2 follower factions and the marriage faction in her factions, the same as in the non-merged version. I did add a relationship record between Eloise and Mavis in the merged version, as allies, and Mavis has the same 3 factions plus 2 Whiterun factions, but none of that should affect anything like you are seeing.

Now, I suppose it is possible that nobody has actually added Eloise to their game at the stage you are at, or they might have had her as a follower like you intend to do for your third test.  I guess I could try and figure out if somehow at that point in the Dawnquard questline, the Dawnguard might be attacking anyone that isn't Dawnguard, rather than attacking the vampires specifically?? That would be really weird, but it is Skyrim. Let me know how your next test goes... at least you should be able to see what Eloise does, without needing to wonder if something happened before she and Isran, etc are in view. I will take a quick look at Immersive Fort Dawnguard tonight or tomorrow morning, too.

Console summoned her to a player house, took her on as follower, went to FD, killed the vampires, talked to Isran, released her from being a follower, no issues.

Looking in SSEEdit - realised that Eloise has packages that take her out of FD into Dayspring Canyon. That explains why she was outside at that moment - wondering if the core Dawnguard quest can't cope with an NPC that is not in the player character group but is present at that moment.

Well, I am glad things are okay at the moment. Like you, I do wonder if there is something at that stage of that quest that results in what you saw, especially if it was because Eloise was outside. She has two crossbow practice sessions each day outside, with lunch in between. If her being outside IS an issue, I could try to give Eloise another conditional AI package to keep her out of the way at that stage in the quest, and that is something I will consider.

      Spoiler:
      Show
For now, if you are good, then I think what I will do is try in my LE game to get to that same point. I am not running the merged version in my main playthrough (I have several custom things for the girls only in my game (not in our mods), for example Mavis has added AI to sleep at Skyfall Estate when not with me. At some point after I finish Dawnguard, Eloise will move to Whiterun (again only in my game) and sleep in the next bed over from Mavis). It is also LE, but I have been thinking about starting Dawnguard anyway. So maybe now is the time. I will try to reproduce what happened to you, and also do some more research. I took a quick look at Immersive Dawnguard on the LE side, and didn't see anything that should be a problem. So as I said... if you are good to continue, at least I can take my time and do some research without being in a frenzy myself. I will let you know if I find anything interesting.

On the number of followers we each have, I have 352 in my merged follower mod, but that doesn't count some more complex followers like Sofia, and several more I have in my merged simple custom voiced followers mod. So I might be close to your spreadsheet count of 376, but you still have me beat when you add in the ones not on your spreadsheet yet. Anyone else reading this probably thinks we are both nuts!

Please let me know if you see any other issues with our girls. Even if it isn't a problem with our mods, I am sorry you had to go through that extra playing time and effort - and emotional reactions too. But... at least... it did give you a unique experience to see Eloise in action in a very unusual way.

    Congratulations on the release.
As you stated, I know this is not how you would prefer to do it with the separate download but yea, we can all thank Nexus for breaking what has been a pretty decent mod resource up to the point when they made the decision to take possession of mods they did not develop.
    Best wishes,

@Tesvixen - Thanks, and I do understand that the way we are doing things now is different, but it was the only way I could think of to remain a part of this community. By requiring a private message, it allows us to keep the same moral or ethical protection of the assets we created, or that use assets created by others. What I mean by that is that our mods are still only available to Nexus users. The use of a private message also means that users do not need to share personal information with us, including personal email addresses, passwords, etc. I hope that makes sense - I haven't had my morning coffee yet!

I'm curious, why the extra steps to access required files for this to work?

I thought these two looked really interesting, and its clear that a lot of work and thought went into them. But having to send DMs and get links and log in offsite and all that... I'm sure you have your reasons, but its a bit much.

@Tesvixen ff7legend is correct. Our mods use several assets from other people, including assets that don't fit in with the new policy at Nexus. Beyond that we are not wiiling to risk the liabilty mod authors might now face. So rather than delete our mods from Nexus, we decided to use this hybrid approach. Sorry you feel that sending a PM and downloading the required files is too much work. If you change your mind, send me that PM!

PS: We don't like doing it this way either!

@ff7legend thanks for your support and friendship. I thought you might like this new merged ESP-FE version!

That's fair, now I understand why.

My comment wasn't meant as an attack - the main concern I had was downloading stuff off of a website I've never heard of. Wasn't sure if it was a permissions thing or what have you, which is why I asked.
