I originally made the raven swords this mod contains the modified nifs that reference the Humus cube maps if you found this sword by someone else it’s either a different model with different UVMap (so won’t work with this) or it’s using my mod del. humbly suggest if you want the real thing you download mods made by me.
Thanks for the beautiful update for your textures. The distinct Damascus, or wootz, pattern on the third sword is much more defined. It's a pity that Bethesda never used a similar texture on the scimitars that the Nords never stop marveling over: "Have you seen those Redguards with their curved swords?! CURVED SWORDS!!!"
Very interesting article on Damascus steel and many other sword topics here:
It’s a shame that the true Damascus steel process was lost. Some pretty facsimiles out there though
Humus cube maps however are outstanding for producing shine with Bethesda’s shaders in SSE
Looking at what’s possible today with post process shaders like ENB, and hi resolution textures vs what we were given 10 years ago even on an old engine boggles the mind.
my Skyrim is hardly recognizable as the same game (which is a good thing).
Indeed. I'm marveling at how well this game is holding up visually thanks to mods like yours and ENB. Ten years in November!
But I still play Morrowind and the original Looking Glass Thief games, so I don't mind some relatively quaint graphics if the underlying art design is still compelling.
The changes to Morrowind I have seen are likewise impressive and the story and world are wonderful. I get lost in the visuals of (heavily modded) Skyrim though like no other.
With parallax, ENB and high resolution models, textures, and all the improvements to landscape, weather, it is my game of choice. No other even comes close.
Really appreciate your quality work Nico. Inspiring, thank you. I can't wait so see the improvements. Haha, yes. With the performance friendly landscapes, "Simply Bigger Trees", DynDOLOD,... I really enjoy walking the world instead of fast travel.
My current play through I am walking the world as well. I will use fast travel from my current location to player home to dump inventory but then fast travel right back to same location and continue. Even been leaving my horse in favor of jogging through the scenery instead. Always amazed at how Skyrim has evolved into a really beautiful landscape with the modding community.
True. Only did the dark handle version for Thranduils sword. These were upgrades I did for my personal game and decided to share. Thats why only versions I am using got the upgrades in this mod.
What made you think that? All files are in locations used only by the items they upgrade. If said item is not in your game the file won’t do anything or hurt anything by being there. No need to be FMOD
No worries. I try to create folders specific to items I create (except when making replacers for vanilla items like IWBA, Bowgasm replacer, and IWBW) to ensure they won’t conflict with anything else. An example file structure would be something like this: data/meshes/weapons/Nicos Mirkwood Bow/ MirkwoodBow.nif unless some other mod author creates a file called Nicos Mirkwood Bow under meshes/weapons there won’t be any possible conflicts. Now if you don’t have MirkwoodBow.esp installed the game engine will never go looking for that file so it will be there but won’t ever load so won’t use resources like VRam in your game. It will take up some SSD space but when it’s a few MB that’s not enough to create a difference in performance of your game or hardware unless that drive is near 100% full (which it should never be).

In any case I am glad you enjoy my mods :)
