Long ago, when Sheogorath was bored, he stumbled across a giant camp and their herd of mammoths. Impressed by the mighty mammoths, Sheogorath made a deal to the giants. He promised them everlasting cheese in exchange for a mammoth sacrifice. The giants took the offer and sacrificed one of their mammoths to Sheogorath and in return, he transformed their sacrificed mammoth and made it reborn as giant cheese on mammoth legs.
They would reproduce like starfish by slicing off bits of the cheese to reproduce more cheese mammoths, but there was another step to this method in which the giants have slowly forgotten due to being too thrilled about cheese, only a few remain on Nirn...
