About this mod
Replaces Mirmulnir's voice with the official French recordings, while preventing Mirmulnir from saying any non-dragon language lines so you don't actually hear him speak French.

Mirmulnir has six different voice lines he can say. The vanilla English audio shipped for these lines is just vague roaring, however. You can't tell he's even 'saying' anything unless you have subtitles turned on! Every non-English dub of the game has correctly voiced lines. Did Bethesda intend for these lines to be in the game? I think so. They'd have just disabled them from playing altogether in the CK if they wanted to properly remove them, so I can only assume the lack of English voice acting was a mistake or oversight.
USSEP fixed this issue by getting voice actor Nextmastermind to record the lines. He does a really good job in my opinion (though his delivery of Mirmulnir's death line "Dovahkiin! No!!" is somewhat controversial), but as a matter of principle I wanted to find a solution which didn't introduce fan-made content to the game.
This mod does two things:
1) The BSA file replaces Mirmulnir's voice (the vanilla roars, or, if you have it installed, USSEP's version of the lines) with high-quality official French dub recordings from the UHDAP.
2) The ESP-FE plugin disables the lines "You are brave. Balaan hokoron. Your defeat brings me honor." and "Brit grah. I had forgotten what fine sport you mortals can provide!" from ever playing, because otherwise you'd hear Mirmulnir speaking French out of nowhere. All Mirmulnir's other lines are exclusively in the dragon language (well, "No!" is English, but the French VA says "No!" and not "Non!" so it's fine). It also changes the subtitle "Dovahkiin! No!!" to "Dovahkiin, no!".
Notes:
- Mirmulnir does have a third line with English in it, "Zok morokei! More souls to feed my master's hunger.", but I'm fairly sure it isn't hooked up to ever actually play so I haven't addressed it. Let me know if I'm wrong and it does trigger in your game.
- The replacement lines are inevitably somewhat accented. I don't think it stands out too much in Dovahzul but your mileage may vary. I have made other language dubs available in the optional files if you find they fit better for you - I feel they are more strongly accented, but I imagine it depends entirely on where you're from and what you're used to hearing.
- USSEP changes the original subtitle "Dovahkiin! No!!" to "Dovahkiin? No!!" with a question mark, presumably to better suit Nextmastermind's delivery. I have opted for "Dovahkiin, no!", as that matches with the French VA's delivery while also toning down the exclamation mark overdose in the vanilla line. If USSEP didn't change it I probably wouldn't have bothered, but I wanted to revert the USSEP change and decided I might as well not make it a boring ITM.
- Other USSEP changes to any records I've touched have been forwarded.
- Load this beneath USSEP. It should be compatible with anything which doesn't touch these specific lines - I didn't edit Mirmulnir himself or anything like that so no worries about loading this alongside all your favourite dragon mods, unless they also change his lines.
