The nerf was made because Odin allows staves and scrolls to benefit from a lot more perks, and fixes the issues where staves and scrolls were much weaker than spells.
The 50% makes sense when staves and scrolls are effectively useless as a baseline.
Ah, that makes sense. I don't use Odin anymore, personally, so I didn't know that. I figured it was because you deemed the 100% bonus simply too powerful (which wouldn't be an unfair conclusion, as I could wield a staff with Dragonbane and have an 80 damage enchantment against dragons).
Just wanted to hop on this comment 3 years later and ask how one would go about setting up a "best of both worlds" option for 100% staff power and 50% enchantment power. I thought it would be a quick change in tesVedit, but it looks like the values for power and enchantment are intrinsically tied together
