Its the plugin type. Esps are more stable but require a slot in the 254plugin limit of Skyrim's game engine. ESL's do not take up a slot in that limit and are pretty common among armor mods.

Edit I wasn't wearing this mods gauntlets which was the reason for it.
Further to my no elbows post, I also have hollow arms while wearing this mod's gauntlets when performing certain actions (sheathing/unsheathing weapons, pulling on bow e.g.) I've only just worked out how to get a screen shot which can be seen at: https://imgur.com/a/xuLniKi
Hey man good job on getting the armor in game, I wanted to give some constructive criticism if you allow me, i have that 3d model too and all of those white pieces in the armor are supposed to be metallic and in this armor those parts are completely white, i knows those textures are probably meant for u4 or unity but there are ways of transforming said textures into something similar of what skyrim uses, most of the time those metallic parts have to be darkened and then the enviromental map settings will do the trick to get them to look more like how skyrim does, I'll link and example of the render of the armor in nifkskope if that work done so you could see the difference of what im talking about! https://imgur.com/a/TSZjev5
This Armor looks gorgeous <3 ...Personally I like the bulk, though will be on my way into SSEEdit to change to Light Armor :) ...Thank you for sharing this amazing looking Armor TeluraVas :)
Played around with reducing the mesh down to better match the Skyrim frame... so far I have not done too well haha. I'll keep trying and see if I can get it to a place where it doesn't mess it up completely.
Yes, I am using outfit studio to try and edit the mesh down. It just usually ends up looking like a crushed soda can haha. I keep going back to it to see if I can slim it down and make it not look terrible at the same time :) one day maybe I can get it right
