I have Campfire and Frostfall installed, the hand warming animation does not work in all inns, but it works in all places, when I uninstall Embers XD it solves it, I have tried the Miscellaneous Embers XD Patches mod, but it does not solve it.
Hey! Neat patches here. Thanks for your hard work.
Was wondering if you could patch the Goldenhills Plantation from Creation Club? The fireplaces don't have fire in them when using XD Embers and it would be nice if it did!
Hi Wolfpack, looks like the new Fall of Granite Hill patch has Lux.esp listed as a master. It comes from the Lighting Template and Image Space you used in the Dead Trees Inn parent record. I just forwarded the vanilla values for those and cleaned masters to remove it and it seems to work.
For some reason I just can't get this to work. I even put it at the end of my load order - and checked xEdit and nothing is overwriting it. Very strange indeed. Using the Campfire only patch and Embers XD 2.4.
I am on Embers 2.6 and all working fine -- have you tried the latest Embers version? Patch placed after Embers and Campfire? Also, you do realize it's the two campfires you can build using the quick method -- regular and roaring?
Hmm, I made a deadwood fire using the realistic method, does the patch only apply for quick fires? Like I said, it's 100% not being overwritten. I'll try making a fire the regular way and see if it works.
Hi Wolfpack, I have a question about the "EmbersXD-Campfire Patch.esp" file. I noticed that the 6 Activator records conflict with the records supplied by the Campfire - Fires Hurt Patch.esp from Wizkid's Patches Compendium. Since your patch is sorted after that patch, the only conflict is in the Object Bounds which I think is required by Fires Hurt to know how far away the player is from the fire. At least that's my guess? I can always make a patch for those 6 records, but I was wondering if you could look at those 6 conflicts and possibly just add the bounds into your patch so that no patch is needed. I don't think it would affect people who don't use Fires Hurt. See pic below and let me know if I'm thinking about this correctly:
Hmm, I don't typically do edits for mods I am not using, but if those changes are generic enough, I might consider it. Are the values different for each of the 6 activators?
Five of them have the same values, the embers record is different. I did some research on object bounds (OBND) and only found vague references to collision and havok. For example, books are supposed to have the proper object bounds so they fit correctly on bookcases.
I did do a little more testing to see if the object bounds changes would cause my character to take damage at the edge of the fire instead of jumping around in the middle of it. It *seemed* to work better, but it wasn't scientific. (And I realize now I wasn't even testing on campfire fires, oops.) Anyway, before we second guess things I'm going to reach out to Wizkid to see why he added object bounds on these records in the first place. If I find they're needed I'm thinking now they'd probably be handled better as a separate patch instead of requesting you change your mod since some other mod might come along and need them changed again. Thanks Wolfpack!
I never heard back from wizkid, so I just added the ObjectBounds bash tag to his patch and rerun my bashed patch, and that forwarded his object bounds while preserving your changes. Problem solved.
