About this mod

Replaces the effect in your hand when holding a fire or frost spell. The vanilla effects are made up of 2D sprites moving in a single plane which is very apparent and quite ugly in VR. These new ones are specifically designed to look good in VR and SE both.

These effects are ripped directly from my other mod Spellsiphon.

This mod only replaces the vanilla FX meshes that all vanilla spells and many mod spells use. It does not edit any spell specifically which means it does not need an esp file (so you dont lose a precious plugin slot in VR).

These fire & frost spell types have their FX replaced:

  • Concentration (Flames/Frostbite/Wall of Flames/etc)
  • Projectile (Firebolt/Fireball/Ice Spike/Ice Storm/etc)
  • Cloak

Staves casting any of the above spell types will be affected as well.

The replacements apply to new spells from mods that reuse these hand FX models (sometimes for other spell types).

These spell types do NOT have their FX replaced:

  • Master/Ritual (Fire Storm/Blizzard/etc). These are already 3D enough to be left alone. Some mods use these models for spells below master as well.
  • Custom models from mods (like blue fire and such).

Compatibility
______________________________________________________

If any files conflict, just load this mod last (allow it to overwrite) to ensure you get its FX.

If you have any other fire or ice mods, this mod will only overwrite the hand FX. Everything else those mods do (textures, projectiles, fireplaces, etc) will stay. E.g. I highly recommend combining this mod with Inferno.

If using this mod in combination with Spellsiphon, be aware that it will make it harder to determine if you are currently holding a normal or "Entangled" drawn spell. To tell spells apart i would recommend using "Reshaped" Spellsiphon spells since those models are not used here.
