Neat, Didn't honestly expect to see a dawnguard replacer in this style. Don't know if I'll go for it, I feel like the dawnguard armor already looks great as is with franklyHD, but the shield is definitely interesting.
Just wanted to make sure, since the Optional File "Heavy Nordic as Nordic Carved Armor and Steel Plate reversion" is just mesh, I'll need NordWars Heavy Nordic Armor" for the textures for Nordic Carved, right?
These are just mesh replacers and perform *without* an esp. Unless those mods fiddle with the mesh itself, just drag this to the bottom of the load order
I love a lot of these. The new dawnguard and executioners gear looks amazing. Would it be possible though to get a version of these armors without the old Dawnguard Helm/ Horned Helmet? I could always make an .esp file in SSEdit but it would save me a lot of trouble and patch-work to have it as a simple replacer.
The steel plate armor with the dawnguard helm can be reverted with the "Heavy Nordic as Nordic Carved and Steel Plate Reversion" patch found lower in the files.
I don't think it would be possible to remove the horned helmet without an esp, vanilla skyrim references two types of steel helmets: one horned and one without. You can find a different helmet and replace the helm with it, but it wouldn't make sense without the horns.
NordwarUA is making a new version of realistic armors, ETA currently unknown. But when it releases, check it out as he may have made a new steel armor and steel plate replacer. I will also be updating this mod to accommodate that, should there still be some untouched armors
Thanks for the reply! I found it. Oops, my b. I am also attempting to create a mesh replacer like you suggested (I think I just need to rename it to helmetsteelgo.nif along with the additional corresponding nifs for beast support, I just hope that the required textures aren't overwritten in my load order) so I'll test that out soon-ish. I can just change the names in my patch if need be.
Interesting, I'll definitely keep an eye out for that one. Thanks for the heads up. I don't mind horns so much since it's a fantasy setting even if it's not historically accurate (I actually like the vanilla Stalrhim sets) I just am not a huge fan of the Dovahkiin helmet from most of the game's advertising.
Thank you for the upload though. The additional options are great :)
This is nice work. I personally am happy with the armor set up in my game, but I really, really like what you did with the executioner armor. Not only is it a vast improvement, it's the only executioner armor replacer I have ever even seen. I made my own edits to this mod so that's the only replacer from this I'm using, but it looks very good in-game. I get what the vanilla game was going for with the executioner armor, but it looks a little too BDSM to take seriously. Now the Helgen headsman and Ahtar are awesome.
Thank you for the kind words. I'm thinking of eventually making an FOMOD of the main file so that people can pick and choose what they want. I'm only waiting for NordwarUA to release his new realistic armors mod, so I can build this mod around that.
