Don't know if you know this, or not... But... "Children of the Sky" is the name of a loli, pornographic child player mod that's been out for years. Hmmm... Might want to consider changing the name of your mod here.
That mod doesn't even exist under that name anymore because of its controversy and the mod author's refusal to comply with that site's TOS. Its been that way since late 2012 (minus its updated version file being listed under another another playable child mod in 2014 or 2016). I don't see why this mod's name would need to change when it is the first mod that pops up in a search for "children of the sky skyrim mod."
First and foremost, I would like to start by thanking you for creating this mod, I love it when mods expand on Tamriel's unique cultures and give the world a sense of permanence and history ,thank you ! As such, I would to request permission to port this mod and its patches to xbox ,you would be fully credited and a link would be provided to the original mod. Furthermore, I would like to request permission to flag it as an esl and upload separate 1k and original resolution versions to give potential user the choice between file space and quality. I hope to here back from you soon.
Feel free, though I am not sure how well the particle effects on Alduin will hold up. They are dependent on how many particles can be rendered by Skyrim, which might be lower for consoles vs what they can be set to on PC.
Thanks, though I am afraid that I just don't see the point in continuing work on it. It was a good learning experience and I am pleased with what I achieved, but developing the mod to the point where I am pleased with Nordic culture in Skyrim is just not feasible. In the time since I released this I've moved over to modding Morrowind. My motivation was always to better present the setting (as it should exist) and Morrowind has projects dedicated to that whereas Skyrim doesn't really.
Any chance for a patch for The Great Village of Kynesgrove? It adds a chapel to Kyne in the village where the "priest" heavily criticizes the Imperial depiction of Kyne, but oddly enough there's a shrine to Kynareth in his temple. It would be nice to have a shrine to Kyne instead.
If the main Children of the Sky plugin had a version/patch to tie it into Wintersun, it would be perfect IMO. Unfortunately, as it is I don't think I could use that plugin just because it would seem oddly disconnected from Wintersun's religion system.
That's not a criticism of this mod, by the way. The mod itself is great. Just, you know, a Wintersun patch would be pretty great IMO.
My reply is a bit late, but I am glad to hear that you like the shrines. As for your issue with Alduin, I am not entirely sure why that would happen. You might have a mod overwriting Alduin's records. If this is the case, then loading my plugin at the bottom should fix it. Otherwise, it might be a result of him already having spawned, but the effects should be applied whenever Alduin is loaded by the game. Perhaps scripts do not apply to references (e.g. the Alduin you see) of records (e.g. Alduin's information that is used to create an instance of him in the game) if the changes to the record were made after the reference was created. I do not know, but you might have already experimented with the matter regardless given the time of my reply.
Another hypothesis that came to me after I submitted the comment: Your (approximate) particle count allowed in the .inis (iMaxDesired) might be low enough that the effects applied to Alduin fail to render, as the game gave preference to other particle effects.
I'll try again with the mod, as I'm about to travel to Granite Hill where the second Dragon Mound is, so I will test to see if the effects are on then!
Also I literally just discovered this mod, which reminded me of this comment I'd left, so I was going to ask if there would be potential conflicts? Thanks!
There shouldn't be any conflicts with the two main files, but the (optional) particle light files might cause problems if their .esp files alter Alduin's records.
This looks really cool, definitely going to use it with my new game- but I'm wondering if theres any possibility for more weathered, stone variants of the Shrines to Kyne, at least the ones outside. It just feels very aesthetically out of place in the screenshots, if you see my meaning, but I really don't want to nitpick too much since its rare enough to find someone adding the old lore back into the game, and the vampire overhaul seems fantastic.
Thanks, but I am afraid not. I do see what you mean about the shrines looking out of place in the wilderness, and I would definitely like there to be more versions of Kyne's shrines, but the time it takes to develop decent textures (let alone meshes if I were to go all the way) makes it cost-prohibitive. Furthermore, I have shifted away from making mods for Skyrim, so doing so could upset my other commitments. Still, thanks again for the appreciation.
I'm worried about Volkihar of Skyrim's compatibility with Requiem. I'm using Requiem along with this mod, and I think the vampires I've encountered are far too easy for my level, so I think the non-visual changes this mod makes to vampires might be incompatible with Requiem. Would you mind uploading a version that made only visual changes, but didn't touch the spells at all?
The kinds of changes made to a record (NPCs in this case) do not matter when it comes to compatibility; a mod that only changes the appearance of NPCs will still conflict with a mod that changes their stats. There are definitely incompatibilities with Requiem since Volkihar of Skyrim's records for vampires are overwriting those from Requiem. The easiest solution would be to (unfortunately) disable Volkihar of Skyrim and cease use of all the textures and meshes included with it. A compatibility patch could be made, but I am unfamiliar with Requiem and currently lack the time to create and test such a patch.
I really want to use the Children of the Sky plugin of this mod but I'm hesitant about adding books from PT's Home of the Nords, would you be able to make a version that doesn't include them? Not that I've got anything against the project but those books aren't canon. I guess you could say the same about books cut by Bethesda in the final release but at least those were written by the same team as the books which made it into the game and had the same level of scrutiny, so those I'm more comfortable with having.

However I tried enabling the Alduin plugin and going to meet him in Kynesgrove, but there were no effects as shown in the images.
Is it because he had already spawned in the cell, and then I had enabled the plugin?
