you know? I really hate your fix because it also affects other stuff that has the same sound like bonfires, but I can't just find a reasonable fix to this stupid bug that it's killing my patience, but unfortunately this is the only solution to that damn bug, so I hope you get more kudos for this
THE SAVIOR. He cometh not to remedy but to DESTROY the vile spawn of Bethesda's eternal neglect. BURN THE FIRES THEMSELVES TO ASH For real, this is the solution to a problem that's been unsolved for over a DECADE from what I've seen around the net. You have my eternal gratitude
i had this downloaded and it was working fine then it started up again, i tried deleting the file then redownloading it and now it doesnt work at all. any idea on how to fix this?
There are several sound problems that stick to the player.
You must identify if they are fire or ice. There are Mods that modify the sound files, but with these the sounds stop working when they should.
One of the solutions is to change sex using the console (do it twice), but in my case this solution is temporary, since when loading the game the problem reappears.
The original solution didn't work but your did. Thank you very, very much. After more than 30 hours of playing in first person with that horrible sound, I was finally able to stop it. I considered quitting my playthrough at around 100 hours because the sound was making me mad.
I've later realized that—at least for me—the sound loop comes back again after doing the above steps, saving, and then reloading. It seemed like I had to do the sexchange x2 thing every time I loaded a save after getting the bug.
It does work to kill that terrible noise—temporarily—but I ended up just reverting to an older save a few hours back and just re-doing a couple dungeons and what-not. Your mileage may vary....
It doesn't truly fix it, but mutes it at least. I wonder if there really is no real way to stop the sound effect from being permanently stuck to your character.
i installed it with MO2 so i didn't overwrite anyting and it works also it only deleted self buring sound dmg i can still hear ambiant fire places and torches :) thx your a life savior

For fire there are these mods:

For Frost there are these

In my case, the last one worked for me.
I hope it helps you.
console
sexchange
enter
exit console
repeat
For some reason changing your character's sex gets out of that horrible audio loop. Just do it twice and you're back to normal.
