The newest version of The Meadows Cottage has been updated. The latest version changes the various potted plants around the cottage to planters and soils plus adds a few new ones. It *should* be safe to update mid-game, but play it safe and be sure to make a back-up save. Uninstall the old version and install the new. If initially you can't plant anything in the planters, leave the cell and wait 2 in-game days. Enjoy!
The newest and last (hopefully) version of The Meadows Cottage is out and there a quite a few minor changes such as simply changing out a few problematic models.
**** YOU MUST UNINSTALL THE OLDER VERSION BEFORE INSTALLING VERSION 3.0 ***
I tested this on an old save and everything seemed to work properly. So it *should* be safe to update on an existing save. Before updating, however, be safe and make certain to make a new save first. The old version is still up in the event anyone has problems. Enjoy the mod and thank you for downloading it!
I should have added in the description that it has already been cleaned using SSEEdit using 5 passes, but if it makes you feel better, go ahead and clean it a few times more. lol
The house cost 8,000 septims and you can purchase it by clicking on the "For Sale" sign hanging on the wall beside the door. When you purchase the house the deed and key will be added to your inventory automatically.
**Just updated the file.....I missed mapping a texture. You live, you learn.
Not yet. I *am* working on it, though, but a LOT of people seem to want that. I just haven't figured out how to get them to dress/undress automatically yet. *sigh* Hopefully I'll get that working soon.
Just saw the update in notifications this morning, and after seeing your awesome pics of this house yesterday its a must download for me. Thanks for the wonderful house.
I just want to understand this xEdit error scan. When I replace it into a new stat record the error is gone
Error: record STAT contains unexpected (or out of order) subrecord VMAD 44414D56 Errors were found in: aaaBMCforsalesign [STAT:2C6A17A2] Contained subrecords: EDID VMAD OBND MODL MODT DNAM
It's a nice housing mod, however when I wanna store the dragon elder scroll, it says invalid item. I have the scroll in my inventory. Also a few dagger display cases won't activate.
The display mod I used for weapons and armors plays a little animation before placing the item. If there isn't enough room between you and the display, the display won't activate. Some of the placements of the dagger displays are rather tight. Try backing off from them a little bit and see if that helps. If it doesn't, let me know and I'll take a look at that. As for the dragon scroll, i'll have to explore that as well. Not sure what's up with that.
very, very nice house mod...just small warning for all "more bandit camps" users ( https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/1994 ): you will need to disable this camp by the house (forgot the name)
I have over 90 homes installed across Skyrim. I have used many of them during my travels with many characters. Many are stop in once and leave because of quality of life or personal preference issues. In the end, installing many homes is preferable as it feels like the world is more populated than it is (all the homes are merged into three plugins so it doesn't fill my bulging load order).
This home is amazing. To me it comes down quality of life issues. This home is polished not just in aesthetics but in how you want to actually use the home during your adventures. The quick teleport spell, the inside/outside crafting stations with linked storage, nice interior spaces with a reasonable space for keepsakes. The outside lounging / entertaining areas are a nice touch just to unwind and watch the world and your followers walk around and do their thing.
I saw the outside of the house, read the "house for sale notice", checked my inventory and only had 200 gold. Shrug. Just the outside of the house sent my adventurer back to Riften to grind some gold for a couple of hours. Was kind of worried that I'd be let down once I had the gold and went inside. Nope, inside is awesome as well.
I wish I had the talent to create a mod like this, but thankfully other people do.
This mod and the Cliffside Cottage home are the two very best home mods in my load order. Although, with Cliffside I added smithing stations outside myself in the Creation Kit so in this regard the Meadows home is already complete.
I downloaded this home based on my positive experience with Josie. It does not disappoint! Josie now lives there with me.
I especially like the braai pit, where I often sit while making use of the resources available through the "Cannabis Skyrim" mod. I'll finish those quests tomorrow.
This is now one of my favorite player homes, and I sort of collect them. But out of the collection, I only use a few regularly. The Meadows is first rate. It will stay installed permanently and always be sort of my primary home. I've stopped coveting Drela's Cottage. Drela is now much safer.
If I understand correctly, you're relatively new to Skyrim SE modding and created Josie and The Meadows as learning exercises. Based on these two mods, I shall be eagerly awaiting your future mods. Thank you for the wonderful additions to my favorite game.
I'm glad you're liking it. The braai pit is one of my favorite features, too. I love having my Dovahkiin sit out there on clear nights to watch the auroras. The plains is my favorite place in Skyrim.
Hey! I use your house exclusively now; I don't even buy the hold houses any more. I've been in and out and used every display in the house repeatedly, and the only thing that I see weird is the upside-down storage of books in the bookcases. Do you have any plans to invert these in a future update?
I do. There is an update coming soon because it's being ported to xBox One and I'm having to change out a few problematic statics. Nothing earth shattering. Plus I added a display for The Dreamstride tome that I forgot to put in it. So keep a watch out for it. :)
One of my favorite homes! It's not too small or too large; I like to think of it as a right-sized home. There are way too many massive estate mods--they're very well-made but gigantic and not really playable for me. It just takes too long to find NPCs or even to get from the front door to anywhere else. This one is just right. Endorsed!
my wife and kids stay inside the house and don't venture out to the rest of the property. is the mod navmeshed for them to do so? of course, i can use another mod to do the same thing, just wondering before i use it. thanks in advance.
Both interiors and exteriors have been completely navmeshed and works properly on my game. The kids follow the default kid packages and should exit the house around noonish and reenter the house around 5-ish. The spouse follows the vanilla spouse package which really doesn't do much except have him or her roam around the interior of the house. To get the spouse to roam to a more variety of places, you can use the my home is your home mod.
