You can do that easily with SSEEdit. Open mod, under Armor category you will find all the masks. First Person Flags (sorted) for every mask has number 42-Circlet unticked. Drag and drop Circlet from the left side or just tick back.
The masks all are armorless now, so I know the mod installed correctly. I am un sure how to toggle their invisibility on?
Seems vortex installs the base file that just removes the armor stuff. I went back and checked the 2 separate files and found the 1 that also adds invisibility.

Mod is great but I've ran into a little issue. I'm using the invisible version and for some reason, Morokei is the only one unaffected. Everyone else is fine but Morokei is the odd one out. The only other mod I use that affects the masks in some way is Improved Dragon Priest Masks SE. The mask itself is still unarmoured, it's just that it's not invisible.
I endorsed! This mod was exactly what I wanted. Removes the armor stat so I get the Mage Armor perk and I can see my hair and! not all helmets are globally removed from NPCs. Thank you for your work
