How to report a bug properly: - "Hey, this quest is stuck, pls help" is not the way to go. Please include as much information and details on your issue as possible, there is no such thing as "too much" here. This includes but is not limited to: the quest you are working on, its stage, your dialogue choices that led there, where it occured, whether you use any of the patches, any other mod conflicts reported by TES5Edit and your load order with them, or really any specific thing that could be of importance. Often a picture is worth more than a thousand words. A very good summary on how to write a good bug report can be found here. Be aware that it's very likely that I will ask you to do a couple of things (mostly some console commands) and tell me what happens then, to help track down the cause of your issue. If you just comment then leave forever, your issue might never get resolved.
Known common issues: The scripted patch for the Immersive College of Winterhold mod does not seem to be working in Skyrim Special Edition. I have yet to find out why this is happening. Until then, if you want to use the mods together, the Art of Blood quest in my mod will be impossible to complete because of environment changes at the college. When you are prompted to get some tools, you can only get past that stage with console commands: setstage ww42dbartofblood 40
This will let you finish the quest. For the time being this is the only workaround for Immersive College users.
How to use the Save the Dark Brotherhood patch: For people who use Save the Dark Brotherhood - Skyrim Special Edition: Installation order: 1) Download and install said Save the Dark Brotherhood SSE. 2) Install my mod's main file. When prompted about 2 conflicting scripts, overwrite. (Main file wins and overwrites the already installed Save the DB scripts). 3) Download and install the patch from the optional files. When prompted about 1 script, overwrite. (Patch wins and overwrites the already installed Save the DB script). Load order: SaveTheBrotherhood.esp -> ww_AlternateDBEnding.esp -> ww_AlternateDBEnding_SaveTheDBPatch.esp. This load order is set in stone for a reason, and anything else will give you issues. Double check that your load order is correct! MO users: Triple check! LOOT users might have to set custom load rules, for me it guessed wrong! LOOT screenshot:

After installation, you can and should check in the in-game MCM's Patches section that the Save the Dark Brotherhood patch is activated.
For people who use a custom port of PrinceShroob's LE edition of Save the Dark Brotherhood: DO NOT use the optional patch. The main file will automatically detect and patch itself for this edition of Save the Dark Brotherhood, but it does still need correct load order. Load my mod after Save the DB: Save the Dark Brotherhood!.esp -> ww_AlternateDBEnding.esp The mod checks this each time a save is loaded and will give you a warning if your load order is incorrect. If you receive no such warning and the MCM reports that the Save the DB Patch is active, you're all good to go.
Hey there, thanks for the great mod. Everything ran smoothly from start to finish but now I have just one problem... Astrid will by default head back to the abandoned shack no matter what i do, i even made her speaker but she still goes back to the abandoned shack.I let cicero live and got them to settle their differences.
If everything else is working correctly, then just check with console commands if the WW42DBAstridDawnstar quest is running. If it's not, start it with setstage WW42DBAstridDawnstar 10
I have no idea why this quest would randomly refuse to start though.
That's fine, it's a hidden quest that just loads the dawnstar AI for her and nothing else, it will never be in your questlog. If it's at stage 10 and running that means it's doing its job correctly. But just to triple check things, can you also check if the Alias that sqv reports on is filled correctly (and not NONE)?
Then the only other reason I can think of is that another mod is loading a higher priority AI for her for some reason and thus this quest is not in control of Astrid. It's the only explanation. Do you have some kind of set-a-home-for-followers mods? Or some other follower framework mods? Anything that might place Astrid into a high-priority alias?
Hmm, don't have any mod with that function that I know of...
I've actually started a new game cos there were too many bugs on that save, I'll let you know if I bump into the same issue again. Thanks for the help!
All right, let's hope it works. By the way, this is what you can watch out for: in the walkthrough, when you take the gold in Volunruud, that is when this hidden quests starts up, together with When the Past Greets the Future. So if the "When The Past Greets the Future" quest starts up correctly, you can also count on WW42DBAstridDawnstar running along.
The update is already there, published just a few minutes ago A few posts below on the same issue, we managed to get a better understanding of why this might happen and I think I've found a fix. The problem was an incorrect alias setting in the mod. It is still somewhat unclear to me what exactly induced this problem, it could be other mods but could be vanilla quests as well. I guess I just never got that combination of quest states in the game when this happens. But anyway, it should be fixed now by correcting the setting that allowed this unknown game state to cause the issue. So you can either: - Go back to a save from before you pick up the gold in Volunruud. Just update to 2.0.6, then pick up the gold, and then it should work correctly now. - But it's also possible to fix the latest saved game where the issue already happened. Just follow the console command instructions in the posts below (but I've copied it here into the spoiler):

Before updating, dismiss her if she's your follower, then use stopquest ww42dbastriddawnstar
Save the game, exit, then update the mod. After that's done, use resetquest ww42dbastriddawnstar setstage ww42dbastriddawnstar 10
Sorry for this inconvenience again, and thanks for the patience.
Ok so...is there a walkthrough for this? i tried it and did my best to support Astrid in every choice but i still ended up with the "normal" dark brotherhood ending, are there any hidden speech checks?
Does this mod play well with other mods touching the DB questline and Sanctuaries? Maybe also combined with Save the DB mod and the patch from here? Specifically:
JK's DB Sanctuaries (has a patch for this mod but not for Save the DB)
JaySerpa's Destroy the DB
wSkeever's Penitus Oculatus
I'm asking mainly because I used this mod and Save the DB in the past without issues but have since rebuilt my modlist and installed the aforementioned 3 mods before this one.
This mod looks really good........but I have a couple of questions with regards to when I should begin several of the quests in this mod. First I have read the book The Black Hand and I have just found out that I am the Listener which has overwhelmed Astrid and she does not want me to follow-up yet on meeting with Amaund. I have also asked Babette to be my Speaker which sort of got me to thinking about the timing of this mod. Now I am supposed to find 4 new initiates which in mind is sort of defying Astrid's role as leader.
So my question is.......When is the best time to start this mod? Should I wait until I am a little further into the regular Dark Brotherhood story line? What was your thinking as you developed this mod?
2 questions! 1. Where do you find Lucien Lachance's book? For the black hand quest? 2. Did you ever decide on whether or not you were making that TG mod to take down the Black Briars with a Dark Brotherhood ending?
Hi! The mod looks really good. Will definitely try it out. However, I was wondering about marrying Astrid. Does it use the vanilla marriage system? Or is there a script that works separately? I'm asking because I made a 'mistake' playing with Serana Dialogue Addon and ended up romancing and 'marrying' her in terms of that mod, and basically it blocked me from marrying any other eligible NPC. So I just need to know whether I need to create a new character to have an option to marry Astrid.
Just finished the To Kill An Empire quest line, saved all the Brotherhood members (excluding SPOILER for obvious reasons) and just started Hail Sithis, right before I go to meet Motierre in Whiterun again.
But whenever I go ANYWHERE, Vazeera, Gabrielle and Festus keep following me. Around the Sanctuary, outside the Sanctuary - and every time I fast travel too. I can’t dismiss them, tried using AFT - nothing.
I don’t have any incompatible mods but don’t know what to do. Does anyone have any suggestions?
Then how did you save all the Brotherhood members, and how are they present? My mod on its own does not save any DB member aside from Astrid in the alternate ending.
So how do I go about recruiting Aventus Aretino to the Dark Brotherhood? I've tried using the mod Recruit Aventus to the Dark Brotherhood but that doesn't seem to be working. With as expansive as YCM is, it seems like an oversight that recruiting Aventus isn't included in here somewhere.

Also I'm using "save the dark brotherhood" patch.

Could a savegame script cleaner have caused this?
EDIT: So i tried an sqv and i see that it is enabled and running at stage 10, but I don't see anything in my quest log

Not an issue from my mod.
Are there any other issues that could cause this? 😬

i asked because the trailer is clearly using AI
