Thanks for this mod, functionally it works great!
The only issue I'm having is when I use the horn, it appears back in its VRIK slot but a duplicate model stays stuck in my hand until I draw a different weapon.
If anyone knows how to solve this I would be grateful.

Just to clarify, it does work and calls my horse. But as soon as the call happens it teleports back to its VRIK slot, but leaves behind a copy of itself in my hand until I draw something else.
Oh, also the whistle sound plays too when I blow the horn for some weird reason.

Sounds like you may be having issues with that particular VRIK slot. I'd recommend clearing the slot by holding your holster button while hovering over the horn, when the holster becomes movable, move the slot away from your body until it vanishes. Once you have cleared the slot, enter combat stance, i.e weapons drawn, then equip the horn from your inventory and add it back to the slot.

Your whistle sound: You may have a seperate mod configured to use the same hotkey as Call Follower, you would have to change one mods hotkey so that they are different.

It seems to be related to the setting "unequip horn after use". It's disabled by default but acts like enabled I think.
When I activate it and then deactivate it again, I dont't get the stuck horn in my hand.
However, rebooting the game reintroduced the bug.

Hello, does this quite literally just press a hotkey that is assigned to Call Follower? If I knew this hotkey, could I, per se, bind the Command Followers button from NFF to this hotkey when blowing the horn?

No, it calls the function which is coded into the original 'Call Follower' mod.

    Hey all,
took me a long time to figure this out, if your having trouble blowing the VRIK Horn (horn sound working) but no followers coming to you, make sure you buy the Imperial horn from a general vendor, I learned the long way.

I guess it's not compitable with nether folowers frameworks?

    Ohh, it isn't.

Is this compatible with convenient horses?

This mod just presses a hotkey, the original 'call follower' mod is what you'd have to check for compatibility.

Okay, testing this out and started a new game.

NO War Horn got added to my inventory, but came across this one from the CALL FOLLOWER MOD of course :

I think it be great (if able) for you to replace those with your VR HORN so we can just buy the horn the conventional way which seems fitting for the immersion.. Or be able to craft it maybe ?

(personally hate adding stuff through console as it just takes you out the game (literally))

I had an idea for making the player work for this (fun way) and complete the quest : Torygg's War Horn

The horn is obtained from Elisif the Fair after completing the quest "The Man Who Cried Wolf"; alternatively, it can be pickpocketed from her or simply (in my game anyways) picked back up after placing it down at the Shrine of Talos.

Once you own this horn you can complete the quest (you still keep it) and then can use this for calling with...

    What do you think ?

    Thanks.

Just to check, the VRIK Horn is a weapon, did you check under weapons for it?

Hello! Not sure if this is an issue with my load order and this, or, my load order and the OG call follower mod, but when blowing the horn, the horn blows find sound wise, but no followers or owned horses come a running and the the message "no war horn in inventory" appears every time.  Anything I can check?

I did do the below process exactly.

    • Ensure that this mod is loaded within the first 127 plugin in your load order, i.e between 1 to 127.
    • Load your game and configure whichever VRIK holster you wish to use to accept swords via VRIK MCM
    • Place the player character in the 'combat stance', i.e weapons drawn
    • Equip the 'VRIK War Horn' weapon from your inventory
    • Holster the 'VRIK War Horn' in your chosen VRIK holster - your war horn is now ready for use!

    Thanks

Yeah you need to buy a war horn from a vender. This mod doesn't provide a 'Call Followers War Horn' only the VRIK compatible one. Once you have the Call Followers War Horn in your inventory your followers will get called.

VRIK has a feature which can be enabled in the MCM called 'Selfie Mode' It can be found under the 'Controls' section. When you raise your hand up above your head it'll show the 3rd person body, while your hand is still up in the air you can rotate your controller to rotate the third person clone of you. Its very useful for repositioning holsters actually.

Thank you so much for making this available!  Now I can feel like Boromir wherever I go.  I just hope that I don't get pierced by many arrows.
