would it be possible to do sort of the reverse ? The main reason why bound bow and bound battle axe and bound anything two handed is a problem is that it lock the two hands with a non refundable cost and a non negligible cast time for character that, as mages or hybrid build, would tend to really want to keep the versatility and possibilities of switching spells.
Having the items be sheathable is one solution, if one that break the 'maintained ethereal' interpretation of summoned weapons.
Another would be to do like in other games, a concentration spell that act as both the weapon and the command to use it. (for bow, the bow would be drawn, and then shoot and dispel when the spell is released. for weapons, each cast would be either a simple attack if the spell is just activated or a power attack if it is maintained. Or make them different spells) with of course, a much reduced cost.
it would reinforce the fact that summoning is still a mage toolset, with the associated cost/effect thinking of each attack and the ability to switch effect as needed more easily than other skills, and alternate between shots or hits with one hand, and summons, ward, buff or heal with the other .
Yeah that's not too difficult, i'm happy to do it if you're interested. I can't guarantee when i'll get it done but I was planning on doing this at some point anyway
yooo same. that sounds amazing. to me it makes more sense for bound weapons to be sheathable and them to just disappear after the timer expires lol. idk why it wasn't in vanilla. would love to see this expanded to all bound weapons.
