I've been getting a lot of people messaging me, asking for permission to translate this mod. So I figured I'd make this comment to let you know that you are free to translate this mod into any language you wish, no permission needed! The only requirement is that you do not upload the entire mod translated, but rather only upload the necessary files and have this mod as a requirement to yours.
Not officially, however if you ask her to wait, and her wait sandbox is still enabled (it's enabled by default), then she'll wander around in whatever place you ask her to wait indefinitely!
You CAN use Nethers Follower Framework, but you MUST use caution, as messing with any custom followers AI (like grandma) can mess it up.
So if you use NFF, apply the following. I also hold no responsibility if you break her AI, so take even this advice with caution (I use NFF and MHIYH with Shirely without issues, and she is currently living in spacious house in Riverwood with several adopted kids).
Anyways:
1- Craft a NFF token and give it to Shirley. This makes her except from it taking over her AI. 2- Just to double down, NEVER use NFF to recruit her. She will still follow along with others, but do not import her into NFF when recruiting her. 3- Create a Home Base in the house you want her to live. 4- Make a MANUAL SAVE. If something breaks, roll back to this save. 5- Add Shirley to the home base. When you dismiss her she SHOULD now remain in this home base and sandbox around it instead of going to her normal home. 6- If she begins to walk out the door, she's headed to her normal home. 7- If she does, talk to her, have her follow you again. 8- Assign Work, patrol and sleep assignments in the home. 9- dismiss her again.
If she still heads home, that's her choice. Let her go and just use other mods to move in grand kids to HER house. If she'll take em.
PLEASE ignore the advice to use NFF or MHIYH on any custom framework followers. It's simply not safe and not worth the risk, when Shirley will quite happily wait indefinitely in any home you choose to bring her to. All custom framework mod authors I've ever seen say anything about this issue warn strongly not to let mods like that touch their follower, and it's simply basic good modding practice - don't try to use two mods to do the same thing, you will have issues, as evidenced by the several issues described in the other comment.
Also, the token does NOT prevent NFF from affecting follower AI, it literally only removes the dialogue option to import directly. If you follow the above suggestion, you will be (partially, but more than enough to break her) allowing the mod to control her
She is adorable <3 I make her in my game as tough as Carol in The Walking Dead (crossbow and swords) - and well - this suits her very well :D thanx for that lovely mod and God Bless you Shirley - <3
I totally understand this, as you're right, she does play Khajiit a lot! Probably won't do it myself, however I won't object to a Shirley Khajiit replacer, if one were to be made.
