For those who download this mod and want to fix the black face bug for your game here's what you do.
    1. if you don't have it already download Creation Kit.
    2. download Creation Kit Multiple Masters Fix found on nexus and follow the installation directions provided on that mod's page
    3. launch creation kit
    4. go to file>data>locate Auriel's Chapel Restored, double click and hit "Set as Active File" and then click "ok". It's going to take a while for this to load and you can click "yes to all" on every warning that pops up. Don't worry about those.
    5. once it's all loaded up, click in the filter box in the object window and search for Faelar. Click on the Actor (Actor, not Actors) tab. Then highlight his name and press ctrl+F4. Click yes on the window that pops up. yes to all warnings. Again don't worry about them, they are just standard proceedure.
    6. do the same for each of the following names: Nyana, Meorise, Faire, Arelor.
    7. File and Save. Close Creation Kit. Load up your mod manager and have it check for updates. For me, I use Vortex so I just click deploy mods and it will notify me that an update has been made to one of my mods and I can update it that way.

Do this and the black and brown face will have been cleared up for all the actors in this mod. Aside from their hair, the Snow Elves in this mod will now look like snow elves.

Great mod, love the glorious feeling of the chantry!
All of the female snow elfs are missing facegendata and have the blackface bug, though.

This wonderful mod can be switched on only after killing Virtur otherwise it prevents him from moving to the balcony where Serana lifts him and completing the quest.

Is there a way to add back the throne? I recently got a mod to replace the Dwemer throne that sits in the chantry with a unique snow elf throne. I definitely like how the chantry looks, It is a very well done mod and a perfect mod for those who use wintersun.

I'm sorry, I am no longer able to do that. I have retired from modding Skyrim. If someone else agrees to do that for you - that's fine with me! :)

u have tagged it as 'lore-friendly', but its not. in elder scrolls wiki u will read this chapel is totally in ruins. so, the mod is not 'lore-friendly' at all.

Ruins can be rebuilt. Gelebor does have quite a bit of time on his hands after all.

I'm playing this on Xbox ( https://bethesda.net/en/mods/skyrim/mod-detail/4204396 ) and it's great.  However, I noticed that:

    - The secret area (via gemstone teleportation) isn't restored.  I read above why, but IMO, I wish there was a way for you to exit it.  Perhaps by a (separate?) mod that changes the existing teleport to a cleaned part of the chapel OR a new teleport node, next to the existing one, that teleports us to the equivalent part of your chapel?

    - All of the fires use a (now levitating) camp-fire, which looks really odd.  This also includes the massive campfire in the middle of one of the rooms.  There are other vanilla assets available, I think.  At the least, you could just leave lit torches in each "bowl" for a similar effect?

    - All of the NPCs have pixelated/corrupted faces (just like many of the vampires).  This might be due to a conflict with your mod and a face retexture mod In using?

Btw, I'm only posting here for due diligence, as comments have been turned off for all users at Bethesda.net (and there are zero existing comments and seemingly only 8 people liked it).  I've left my comments here in case any XB1 users have similar issues, or to add any relevant info for PC users who have similar issues.

    - Also, what is the "Klimmek's Supplies" item?  I picked it up by accident but it doesn't seem to do anything.  Dropping it caused it to levitate in the air.

    - In the outside part of the chapel ("to Skyrim" from the inner sanctum), in the far left corner (left of the stairs in front of you), there's an invisible wall that I can't get past, so I can't access the benches there to sit, etc).

    - The walls in the ouside chapel, which hosts the doors to the outside area where the white elf stands, is clippable (and the area the steps that are near the invisible walls mentioned above).  This means I can see through them if I walk into them.  Objects dropped and move can also pass through them.

    - Rather amusingly, spawning a (monk) NPC, using another mod, made him ignore the seats in the oval area, near the white elf, and walk to the portal and use it!  No other spawned NPCs near the portals in other areas ever did that...

Spawning them on the "right" side, near the white elf, and the bench, was fine.  Spawning them on the "left" side, near the bench, made them spawn in the middle of both benches and made the npc walk to the portal, and use the left portal to the Shrine of Resolution!

    - Access to the snow giant, and objects found on the ice statues (such as the "Circlet of Waterbreathing", etc) will no longer be there (as the secret passage to the troll is replaced).

Thanks for the mod, regardless though.

Hello, thank you for reporting all of this, I appreciate your time.
First of all, I'd like to say that I had no idea that my mod was available on bethesda.net site. No testing was made on Xbox.

I am aware of some of the issues you've talked about like invisible wall, paragon room and clipping etc and I've already answered this. I should probably add a "known issues" section on the main page.
I do not know why you have a levitating fire as in creation kit and my screenshots I didn't have this issue.
Some people reported a dark face issue which may be the same issue you have with pixelated faces. It's rather easy to fix on PC. Unfortunately I do not know if there are fixes for it on xbox.
The Klimmek's supply item is a sack he gives you when he asks you to take some supplies to the greybeards (a side quest). I must have mistakenly chosen it instead of a normal sack as they are identically looking.

Thanks.  The fires aren't "levitating" per sec, but as a campfire item seems to have been used for all of the "lamps" in the mod, the attached stones, surrounding the fire in a circle, seem out of place (hence "levitating").

The pixilated face might be due to a face mod I've got, as most vampires or cloned (dark) elf NPCs also feature this.

Also, what quest does he give?  Are there a number of quests?  If so, then how can I access them?

Anyway, I've populated the hidden valley and the temple with extra monks, mercs, miners, etc.  The whole area is quite the busy place, with human monks visiting the temple, human guards, clad in white elf armour (with golden elven helmets, shields and weapons) and other guests.   I've made the whole hidden valley bereft of "The Betrayed", and full of other NPCs, looking to claim a stake in the land and/or help make it a better place!

Oh, then it must be a size issue as I'm using Embers HD mod and its campfire model must have been used by creation kit.
Klimmek's quest is a vanilla game side quest, there's only one. I can direct you to this page if you would like more info.
That's cool! Glad the valley lives on in your game :) I use a mod to make falmer friendly so in my mind they made a kind of peace treaty with the snow elves of the temple.

Nice!  Thanks for the info!  I did Klimmeck's quest, but I'm not sure why his satchel would be in this temple, far away in the forgotten valley?

Yes! It is glorious to see this- it isn't too gaudy, it isn't overdone, it is imaginable as the ruin we know, restored to former glory. It is radiant in the sun, and in the light shed by the sword I carry (Auriel's weaponry, by Amrasanarion). My dragonborn made a pilgrimage here to visit Gelebor before plunging into Sovngarde, and was deeply moved to see good coming out of that ruin.

Moving out of roleplay, I still have blackface on all the new NPCs. I just downloaded this yesterday, and I don't have anything that- as far as I know- should be causing it.

I'm sorry to hear this! They all use only vanilla-everything, and I have refreshed all their data several times before uploading the mod...
You can try one of these fixes here that helped me with other mods:

Thanks, that first one worked great!

Found a corner of the chantry still in ruins- it's that bit of the inner sanctum only accessible from the blue paragon gem, paragon portal platform.
By the way, I love how you've set up different bits of the ruin area to be different things, the sleeping quarters, the kitchen, they make sense with the layout and aren't overdone. It's not one of those new palaces with every possible vendor- it's a temple, radiant and fair, with places to eat and sleep.

      Glad it helped!
Yes, it was intentional. It's like a very hidden area that no one could access without a paragon so Gelebor and others could not restore it :)
I also did it to avoid problems with paragon teleportations so basically it teleports you back to the original cell.

Ah- Now if only I could move my family there. Sure the place has dragons frozen under the lake, Falmer, etc. But still, beats Whiterun, have you seen how easily that place could go up in flames? Let alone Nazeem! In all seriousness, this is exactly something I was looking for to go with my Snow Elf scholar (as in, she studies all things related to them, not that she is one) character.
