    Would it be possible to have a lower duration for this spell? Perhaps 2 to 6 in game hours instead of 24? I find it annoying when I cast it near my horse and then it glows purple for an eternity and a half even after fast traveling (because I fast travel with it). Or perhaps make it into a toggle, that would please a lot of people (including me) I think.

      So just cancel it out when you don't want it any more.

      How do you cancel it out? Just cast a different spell? I thought casting this spell again was supposed to cancel it, but it's not working.

      There is no way to "cancel it out", this spell has never worked that way.

      I used this mod on PS4 and Xbox1 years ago, and now on PC for over a year.  This spell could never be "cancelled out".  And it's magical living/dead/automaton detection ability bleeds through cells which can get very annoying and distracting.  But I still use it, because I am crazy I guess.
      But what is crazier is that the Mod Author himself never realized this, that this spell cannot be "cancelled out", cannot be dispelled.  That shouldn't even be possible.  Makes users question a mod author's level of intelligence.

    Hi,  Nice mod.  Easy enough to edit in the Creation Kit for personal preference.  I too couldn't turn off the spell by recasting.  Just opened CK and changed the duration to 3 seconds for allies and 30 seconds for enemies.  Also made it an apprentice spell with very very little XP per cast.  For my needs, this is the best detect mod available as you do see machines etc.  Well done.

    Could you make an enchantment version? Like "Ring of Detect Aura" or "Amulet of Detect Aura" and hidden/purchase at Winterhold College, also can disenchant too

    Great spell, unfortunately it isn't turning off when I activate the spell again. It was my impression from the description page that the spell is meant to be toggle-able.

    Hi there, I don't know if you still do mods, but I really would love if you could make this as enchantment or something like to stick to the toon... well I want to use this kind mod because it's really hard to see enemies with all the new trees and grass and my toon is a stealth archer so when I am fighting against a mage they offen disappear in the "jungle" and they just keep firing spell and you need to fire your arrow where the spell came but they keep moving and firing so it's unfair when they know where you are but you dont know where they are... this apply to archer enemy or any ranged enemy... thanks for this mod! <3

    Is it possible to make a concentration spell out of this instead?

      Hmm? Detect Life IS a concentration spell. That was the problem. You couldn't really do anything else while using it. So I had a request to make it a Fire & Forget spell. So that's what I did. This is the result. If you really want to use it as a concentration spell, just use the original Detect Life spell.

      I'd also prefer a less OP version. Basically the same as Detect Life but able to detect automatons and dead bodies.

    I checked the satchel mentioned here but there was no spell in the satchel

      Did you read the Description, especially the Compatibility section? If still not there after following that, then your game is messed up. Sorry. No idea how to fix your particular problem, as each person's game is messed up differently. If you load this mod last (even just temporarily), the Spell Tome WILL be in that satchel. Period.
