i would love a lower level version of this weapon that's toned down and the advanced smithing perk isn't a requirement, something for earlier in the game that i can temper to be better instead of it just being amazing by default. to make it: 4 Firewood, 1 Iron, 2 Leather Straps, and Dragon's Tongue (or Blisterwort - something similar to the bows color was what i was going for.) idk what the damage is at right now, but id set it from 10 to 12 (which is around orcish) and change the requirement to steel smithing, so it requires some work and it won't be immediately outclassed by the next thing you find.
otherwise ill just end up using it later on when i eventually get around to grabbing the perk, thanks either way~
If you go into Xedit you can just change the perk requirement or remove it. I myself changed it to Overdraw 20 because not all archers are smiths and bow skill is a good choice as a substitute. You can also lower the damage to 12 or something that fits your need. It's very easy once you open up Xedit, In fact installing Xedit correctly is harder to do than the changes you want.
Thanks for the tip. It was actually really easy to change the texture via Gimp. Managed to replace the dark brownish texture with a carbon fiber texure.
Can someone tell me how to do this using GIMP? I've tried figuring out how to do it on my own but nothing I've tried will work.
Or, if anything, PLEASE SOMEONE mod this bow to have a realistic wooden color and texture! It's my favorite bow in the game and I'd really love to see it with full realism.
Like some others here, I didn't like the colour of the bow at first until I found it grew on me and now I wouldn't have it any other colour. I like both it and also it's stats which work out perfectly for me. By using this bow in conjunction with Jake Alaim's wonderful Signature mod, means I can use it right through to the endgame. Thank you CaigU.
Any chance that you port the elven weaponry mod to the special edition too? it would fit perfectly with the noldor content pack which comes without the bow for the special edition.
One of my favourite mods from the original Skyrim, so glad to see it here!
I might have run into a problem with ordinator though, as the changes to the smithing tree seem to have prevented me from being able to make the bow. Is it possible for you to post the ID for the bow, I hate to resort to spawning one in but it seems easier than trying to mess with Ordinator when it's installed on a playthrough.
So I did download this mod and I have to admit, after all the bow mods I own. Between this and Real Bows, this single bow was my favorite bow in terms of length and shape. However, after downloading and comparing its color to that of the Real Bows, I just couldn't handle its orange color. If you changed the color of the bow to say a coffee (dark brown/black) color I would happily download it again! Also, making this bow itself into a 4K texture bow, I would almost guarantee you will gain way more downloads. The stats are amazing, the length is amazing and the shape is amazing. I would recommend changing the color and the textures and I will bet this mod will be a hit!

If you can, you'd be a lifesaver! Thanks
