    Things to consider:

    • Folkvangr will not look as intended with ENBComplexGrass because the meshes don't have normal maps. I recommend not using complex grass
    • this mod was calibrated predominantly for ENB use, specifically for RUDY/Obsidian (my own variant). It's going to look different across setups, there's no way around this but to edit the textures yourselves if they're too bright or saturated
    • if you overwrite the included landscape textures with others, you're not gonna get the correct transitions from terrain to grass
    • this mod includes some worldspace edits that cause landscape seams. There's positives and negatives to including said edits, but if the seams are too much, you can remove worldspace edits in Xedit

    The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim - Anniversary Edition (GOG) 1.6.1179.0.8 (SKSE64 2.2.6 rel 72).

    I don't understand. Mods installed:
    "Cathedral - 3D Pine Grass" 0.462 from 2023.01.22
"Origins Of Forest - 3D Forest Grass" 1.4.8 from 2022.10.24
"Folkvangr - Grass and Landscape Overhaul" 1.3 from 2021.04.08
    "QW's Grass Patch 2 - Origins of Forest - Cathedral - Folkvangr" v1.0 from 2022.05.22
"Grass FPS Booster" 7.2 from 2023.12.21

Why aren't the grass and leaf litter from these mods lit up at night with a torch and fire? They stay black. It seems that only clover is always illuminated. I discovered this after installing "Dolomite Weathers - Natural Lighting Vivid Atmospherics II" 1.6 from 2017.11.20, "Darker Nights" 1.7p13 from 2018.08.10, fog, rain and color presets "Rustic Weathers and Lighting" 33b from 2022.01.27, “Seasonal Weathers Framework - Seasons support for Weathers Mods” 1.01 from 2023.08.13, “Sun-Sunflare Optional Add-On. Created by Prod80" 3.0c dated 2016.12.27. I turned off the weather and lighting mods, as well as the “Grass FPS Booster”, left only grass and vanilla weather with vanilla lighting, but the grass and leaf litter remain black at night and are not illuminated by a torch or fire. They are always illuminated only by the light of night. How to fix it?

This mod makes many texture seams appear on the terrain in various places.
I have to turn off other mods and turn on only this mod, and the problem occurs, so I'm pretty sure this mod is the cause.
The same problem has been reported in the bug report, but is this problem still unresolved?
I searched and couldn't find any bug fixes or mods.

hello guys, i urgently need help. i have put the mod together with a few other mods and also used the correct skse version and AE version. however, the grass is not displayed at all. i have not found a single spot where the new grass texture has been applied. i have already tried everything possible: reinstalling the game, reinstalling MO2, changing the load order, overwriting textures, etc. Does anyone have the same problem or know how to fix it? btw. also does not work if I only have Folkvangr activated. Skyrim AE: 1.6.1170 SKSE: 2.2.6 ENB: 0.499

Helllloooo Grumbledook!  Amazing mod.  Would you be so gracious as to port your wonderful work to Bnet for us poor deprived Xbox users.  Or if you would trust someone to handle the work for you.  Either way a win for all of us.
    Cheers and happy modding!

Been using this mod for multiple playthroughs, and I've really enjoyed the designs of certain landscapes (: The Rift area is awesome :). The best aspect to this mod though is by far the framerate loss is not that bad. I use a low-end laptop, and I can still get decent frames in forested areas (Unlike other foliage mods). However, I have ran into one major issue. It seems in mainly indoor areas (Caves, Ruins, etc:), the grass and foliage are bland and very dark, almost black. This also is very prevalent in DLC areas as well like the Dawnguard DLC. It is bearable, but it doesn't look pretty whatsoever. In the past, I just ignored it and moved on with my playthrough, but I thought I would try to get some assistance on this issue. Any help would be appreciated.

Update: Still haven't solved the issue, but I forgot to mention in my original post that it mainly happens during nighttime/darker areas. Any assistance would be great.

Can someone pls help? I have dyndolod installed and also checked the box for hd grass. but for whatever reason when i play grass is great, but not on distance. a bit on distance the grass isnt loaded and loads while moving on (sry, my english isnt best, but hope understandable). so basically grass is surrounding me and only loads up up to a certain range (ingame settings for grass is on max. wish slider bar would be more extended^^).
i really like this mod and prefer it over others, but idk if its the mod or me having to do something on settings (a bit of a noob here).
also not sure if its because of what the author is mentioning

    • this mod includes some worldspace edits that cause landscape seams. There's positives and negatives to including said edits, but if the seams are too much, you can remove worldspace edits in Xedit

really thankful for any help. i did google a lot, read infos about grass on dyndolod. but struggle a bit to understand. thx.
    1. Yeah you gotta get xLODGen for grass and terrain to have LOD from what I understand.

KingInTheNorth is off here. You probably failed to build your grass cache. You need to look up the Dyndolod documentation on LOD grass.

guess im just a noob and still have a lot to learn :)

Could I please request a patch for cannabis skyrim, removing some of the grass around "your highness"?

    Would hugely appreciate this

Folkvangr: There is no uniform color scheme. You will come to a green forest and you will see very green and fresh grass at the same time as orange and shriveled grass, half of the ferns will be very green and half of the ferns will be orange.

The fields near Waitran are filled with gray grass mixed with green grass, half the grass is green and half the grass is orange. Just a huge amount of bushes that look like a big piece of wool that hasn't been overcooked enough.

The fall forest near Riften consists of Red and Gold trees with golden leaves falling from them, and there are fallen golden leaves on the ground. But Damn it! Why the hell is the grass here half green again?

This mod is beautiful in some places. I like the cones and some of the details. But the author's screenshots are excessively false. This mod is ugly.
I want to emphasize that you can find some beautiful areas here, but for the most part, you'll look around and see some mush of inorganic bits and pieces. The key word describing the flaw in this mod is Inorganic or Disharmonious.

Thank you for the insight, do you have any recommendations for a vanilla friendly or vanilla style grass mod?

Verdant - Unfortunately quite old grass and therefore looks a bit sparse on some elements such as cones or fallen leaves. But the color palette of the regions is perfectly respected. There is no excessive color rainbow of grass. The grass looks even and tidy.

Veydosebrom - Modern grass with modern visuals. I didn't use it because the tundra looks better than Falksvangr, but it's still half green and half brown.

I liked one grass, but it doesn't have "Complex Grass" on it. So I won't be using that one either. But it's as simple, minimalistic and color-observant as possible, grass.

I never found a suitable grass mod for me, I decided to just modify Folksvangr by replacing and duplicating the grass files. For example, get rid of absolutely ugly bushes.

There are some good video comparisons:
      https://youtu.be/H5DGIZjNmUk
      https://youtu.be/c-TZzv8FMYE

Origins Of Forest - if you want to make your green forest even more lush and diverse. There is a loss of performance, but this mod does not replace, but adds more variety and amount of grass. Pay attention to patches, in some cases they are necessary.
      Rock Grass - Improves pebbles.
Skyrim 3D Landscapes - Add even more different things. But visually it doesn't fit every grass mod. Pay attention to patches, in some cases they are necessary.

“This mod is ugly” bruh 😂

You’re upset that it’s realistic, it has green and brown grass… just like vanilla.. and just like real life, also just like viscous grasses.

I agree. Apparently I don't understand anything about THAT kind of realism.  :)

Think you've setup wrong or are trying to splice it with other grass/landscape mods. When I install I get what is in my screenshots. Impossible to provide a consistent experience when people are using a million different ENBs, weather mods, lighting mods, landscape textures, and multiple grass mods.

This example is not very common. That is, this particular difference in ferns is not so widespread, but only in some places. It also happens in places where there have definitely not been any changes by other mods. I ended up replacing the textures from your mod. In any case, thank you for the wonderful mod, it is very high quality. But it's hard for me to look at the above, I hope you understand that I really love your mod and continue to use it despite this disadvantage.

All I can offer really is that you carefully pick landscape textures that match the grass (or get an image editing program and tweak them - if you're gonna switch them out and don't like the new look)

The landscape textures I provided are used to provide good colour transitions from grass to ground (terrain) mesh. When you switch them out, you inevitably run into issues where the grass looks out of place etc.

Saying that though, I've not included height maps in mine, so I can see why people would want to replace.

      Folkvangr certainly isn't perfect though

It may not be perfect (but then again, which grass or any other mod is?), but it's nonetheless pretty good looking. Maybe a bit of polishing here and there (ENB complex grass or parallax terrain textures come to mind)?

Anyway thank you very much for providing this mod! :-)

Best grass mod out. I use it with Tamrielic and Origins of Forest and it looks amazing. Couldn't disagree with Soldream more.

I want to install the following, and want to know if there will be any conflicts.

    "Seasons of Skyrim SKSE"
    https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/62861?tab=posts

    "Seasonal Landscapes"
    https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/66903

"Seasonal Spiffed Up Tundra Scrubs - Animated"
    https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/112938?tab=description

Will there be any conflicts with the above three mods?  Should I uninstall "Folkvangr - Grass and Landscape Overhaul," install those three, and then reinstall "Folkvangr - Grass and Landscape Overhaul" afterwards?

    Or are they incompatible?

I use vortex and it will allow you to select which overwrites. I am pretty sure Mod manager has similar.  If you are not using any manager but doing it manually It should be added last of those mods. Manually is not a good idea unless you have very very few mods.
