I put this into my saves folder and the game crashes when i select the save in game....should the file be renamed to something like Save 5 - Prisoner Skyrim 00.31.47
Some scripts are run even at that point in the game, if you're testing or need a New Game for any sort of mod, you need a new one, this will not solve issues and may actually cause them.
One reason: the bug that causes the game to hang on the main menu after clicking a new game. That's it and its the main reason I downloaded this just to get pass that hurdle.
Yeah, sorry but this will only harm peoples games. The whole "fresh save" mentality needs to be forgotten, too many mods require a totally new game to set up properly, this will not enable them properly. Also, that last paragraph of your description is frankly dangerous, you should not be adding any mods to your load order AFTER you click that new game button, its as bad as removing them mid game.
I understand what you were trying to do here, but this is fundamentally non-functional. many mods require a new save in and of themselves to even work. This is something that may solve problems on YOUR load order.
Here's something I can share with you as ADVICE, on something that may help alleviate the issue:
1 - make a new character. 2 - WAIT in LAL start shamber until you stop seeing notification about new MCM menus. 3 - set up ALL your MCM settings. 4 - MAKE A HARD SAVE. not a quicksave; a HARD SAVE. 5 - repeat for every race.
6 - every time you want to play a new character, load this older save. all your settings are ready and all mods are properly loaded and scripted (assuming you didn't drasticaly butcher your LO). this is the method I use, and I literally "start a new game" in 10 seconds. worth it.

I mean, loading this save and creating a new game with that mod take about the same time.

It will take more time to install this save game than simply clicking New Game in the main menu..
