In the new update I've added the "Toggle always run" key to Menu Mode section of controlmap.txt, so now the game will recognize the Caps Lock key in dialogue menu, as well as Shift key. Even less "sticky" walk-run switch :) Kudos to Vermunds for the advice!
And one more patch uploaded, for AH Hotkeys. If you have any other mod with its own controlmap.txt, let me know. I'll make more patches if needed.
For anyone coming here from internet search, don't bother using it, as it only fixes ONE instance of this bug - when you talk to NPCs while holding shift. The game will still troll you and swap always-run back and forth every time you change areas or randomly when the game does some event in background or when you activate area transition door while in combat, even if you're not holding shift, or simply because the game just wants to annoy you. Use this instead:
There's some weirdness going on with the Cobb Fix controlmap file. For some reason, I can't toggle the favorites menu with Q, only open it and then have to close it with Tab or Esc instead.
I only glanced at the main and cobb text files briefly but there are some differences between the mapping of, at least, the "// Favorites menu" segment. The main file of your mod doesn't have this issue so I'll just use that one for now as I usually don't use a controller anyway.
Just wanted to let you know as it's probably easy to fix!
Skyrim 1.6.1130 adds new lines to the controlmap file. To update it for the current latest Skyrim version, extract the .txt from Skyrim - Interfaces.bsa and copy over the Run and ToggleRun lines to the new controlmap.txt file, adding lines 66 and 67.
You don’t bring it back to the .bsa - that doesn’t make sense. You leave it outside of the archive just like how this mod is in its current state as you installed from NexusMods.
You're a genius. I have traditionally set my Toggle Run key to Capslock. If something happens and you hit capslock in console or journal/save/MCM menu, things can get interesting...
If you use Read or Take SKSE and use the default keybind of left shift you probably want to add the line also to the Book section, as there's a good chance you will be opening books or notes with shift held down. :)
Edit: Well, looks like that doesn't work for whatever reason. Crap. Guess I'm changing the keybind then.
Does someone know how to fix this issue manually in the game, by doing something?. I found this fix, while trying to find solution how i can fix this slow running glitch. I installed this mod, but that didn't fix it, i checked earlier saves and the running is working, but i'm wondering how i can get it fixed on the latest save. Spent two hours trying to solve it.
Thanks for the reply, finally i found the reason, and it's the classic. I've modded my game to be too realistic, it was because i was wearing heavy armor, which in my game slows you down :D
Unfortunaterly some interactions like horse mounting and opening doors between cells will still cause the issue. It can't be addressed via controlmap file.

It fixes all trolling instances of always-run swapping.
