This mod somehow breaks furniture interaction for me, character instantly exit the sitting/crafting animation. Can't figure out how to fix this cause i'm dumb.
1) Where can I got all the patches with FOMOD (or just unofficial archive)? Asking, cos it's a pretty popular mod.
2) How performance-cost is this? I see many High Poly meshes on that. And I'm think what it can hit my memory by ~5-7 FPS sometimes.
3) Does it conflict with many other textures and meshes replacers? For example, Skyland - AIO, Pfuskher or SRP. (one of the best issues - snow chests, which glitching when someone using another texture-replacers with SMIM)
From my research and experience, SIMM and it's Add-on(s) will conflict with a lot of different mods such as the ones you've listed. Always let others mod overwrite SIMM - SIMM is to be used as a base or upgrade for vanilla meshes, if that's the only mod you're using.
We seriously just need a group of modders to make a SMIM 2 at this point. Combine all the FYX stuff, SMIM stuff, this stuff, all the WeezerSkeeve stuff.
I absolutely agree with that assessment. I was trying to sort out some furniture mesh conflicts in my current build, and found myself trying to figure out what is the actual practical difference between "Static Mesh Improvement Mod - SMIM - Quality Addon" and "Static Mesh Improvement Mod Improvement Mod" and which one I should place higher in the load order.
Among the couple of dozen various SMIM this and High-Poly Project that, and their various fixes, improvements and upgrades, in tandem with the horde of specific mesh fixes and fyxes, making sense of it all has become quite a veritable jungle to trek through.
Skyrim modding would benefit immensely from a fresh and open general take on this matter. Some sort of "Universal Mesh Fixes and Updates" mod would make all our lives easier going forward. And adding further new improvements and variations lot easier, if they all shared the same base mesh on which to work on.
I do realize it is a tall task, having some practical experience in combining various "fixes" into one mesh in Nifskope. A team of several, far more skilled and talented 3D artists than myself, would be required to pull it off. And someone with enough free time at their disposal to co-ordinate the project. One can always hope for such an eventuality, but noting how much time and effort it would take, it probably won't happen.
In the meantime, I guess I'll just have to add even more compatibility patches into my load order, along with my ad-hoc custom "fixes" for the things that cause me the most headaches, and just accept that no matter how I shuffle my load order, some aspects are going to remain broken no matter what. It still beats the vanilla state of the game by a mile, and for that am grateful for the work and effort people providing these amazing fixes put into their mods.
And on that note, thank you Pfuscher for all your wonderful mods and fixes. I use quite a large number of them in my build.
Pretty sure this also replaces custom chain options. The small chains get converted back to the big versions again. Could be some other things that are overwritten. Ah, its a good mod, but unfortunately I'll have to compromise on its use...
Hopefully Elder Scrolls VI will split out the records so that sound, lighting, water, etc. are independent records so you can mix and match what you like.
